Let me describe an experience my wife and I had with this location 5 years ago (sorry I'm just posting it now, just discovered Google's review function) One of my requests for 40th birthday was to have a custom made cake featuring the first comic book I ever bought (I'm a comic fan) with the characters leaping off the page. My wife researched cake places near the party venue that could pull this off. She came across Merry's Cake page on the Internet and though they'd be able to pull this off. She forwarded Merry's website to me, and I thought the same thing. We agreed to give Merry's a try. I gave my wife explicit instruction of what I wanted my cake to look like which she passed on to a cake artist at the business. I wanted the cake to me a replica of a stack of comic books, with the top layer be the first comic book I ever bought, with the character on the top cover to be springing of the cake in three dimensional figures and seeming to come to life. The person at the place confirmed that they could do it and told us the price it would be for the cake we wanted. We paid a percentage for the cake up front and were told we'd get regular updates on the progress of the cake. We had no contact for 3 weeks, We called back two weeks before my birthday to check on the process of the cake. "Thank god you called," the person who answered said, informing us that the original cake artist we working with left the company and that they were trying to figure out the original artist's notes. We once again told them what I wanted on the cake, resent the images and designs I wanted used and were assured that we would be getting the exact cake we wanted. We paid the remaining money without seeing the cake. Stupid on my part, but still. We didn't see the cake until my actual birthday. Merry's Cakes dropped it off before we got to the venue and we never met anyone from the company. Merry's Cakes did not follow any of my directions. What we got for out money was a few sheet cakes, which we could have paid hundreds of dollars less for at Sam's Club, with some random comic books they found on the Internet, not the specific images we requested, "spray-painted' on fondant on top of the cake. The 3-D characters? They were flat, 2-D fondant cutouts which were not only not characters from the specific comic book I requested, but also were from another comic book company entirely. I was really looking forward to this cake, and I was completely disappointed. If they were unclear on the instructions we gave, or if the price we were quoted was too low for the cake we wanted, then they should have let us know. We had ZERO communication from these people. As a matter of fact, if we didn't call before my party, I have the feeling we might not have received a cake at all. We went to Merry's Cakes because we wanted a very specific cake for a very special day. The company obviously either did not care enough about our business to make sure they gave us what they promised, or they just aren't skilled or organized enough to fulfill on their promises. Either way, we're never going to use them again, and neither should you. If you want to use her service for anything other than a basic cake, please, read all her reviews here and on other platforms on this business. If you still decide to use her, do whatever you can to make sure she delivers on her promises.
