New Mexico Sunset + Rainbow + 11mm = Wow

Talk about being in the right place at the right time. An epic sunset coinciding with a full rainbow. It doesn't get much better than this.

Exif: Single image, 11mm, 2 seconds at f/11, ISO 50

Cajete Fire
Jemez Mountains, New Mexico

Wildfires are a common occurrence in the forests of the southwestern US during the spring. They are an essential element to the environment by bringing renewal and regrowth. However, they are sometimes hard to watch when folks are displaced and the areas you love to visit are burned.

This photo was taken Thursday night (6/15/17) from the top of Pajarito Mountain in New Mexico. Luckily, the fire crews were able mostly contain this fire over the weekend before it became too destructive.

Thanks for viewing. More of my photos can be found at www.jimsteinphotography.com

The Return
White Rock Canyon, New Mexico

An early morning shot of the Milky Way core rising from the east. It's good to see it again. Looking forward to capturing more of these.

Light Show
Near Santa Fe, New Mexico

After a mostly cloud-free day, this storm popped out of nowhere and raged over Santa Fe for a couple of hours with strikes occurring every few seconds. Then, as if on cue, it suddenly turned off and the clouds quickly faded away.

Shot with a 24-105mm lens (@35mm) for 12 seconds at f/8, ISO 800
