I/O Extended
We had an exciting I/O Extended event with a special focus on Women in Technology.  It created an opportunity to connect with incredible women and men in the tech space in Lagos, be part of the largest Google developer event in the world. GDG Lagos was also featured right and streamed live from the main Google I/O event. We featured a number of those women on the blog in the ramp up to the event

We will host an I/O Extended Event and If the logistics permit, an overnight Code Party to follow I/O Extended to try out some of the new technology within reach.

Zero to Sixty in 3 Days
These will be hardcore type developer trainings, focused on one product, platform or API for Beginners.

For experienced developers (veterans) only. This will be an invite-only event.

DevFests
Following the Global theme, we will have devfests

GDays 2015
Leveraging from the success of GDays 2014 and lessons from same, we would have a better planned, not necessarily larger edition with longer sessions and fewer topics, to ensure that the sessions are more empowering and more result oriented (measurable results).

Join us next week Saturday - 24th May for a Deep Dive into GIT. And an opportunity to collaborate and contribute to the development of an Events Aggregation Platform - something we need so much in the tech community  [http://bit.ly/1nQYDyM] . Something simple but works.

Git is a powerful and sophisticated system for distributed version control  - basically a really great way of managing your source code and collaborating with others.

Gaining an understanding of its features opens to developers a new and liberating approach to source code management.

Join us as we take a guided tour that walks through the fundamentals of Git.
Installing and configuring git
Using git
Getting relevant information from git.
Collaborating in projects with Git
We plan to get everyone involved with hands on sessions on the most common use cases of git and source code versioning.

If that's not enough, we'll also cover some pseudo advanced topics that help tremendously: stashing changes, rebasing, cherry-picking and the like.

Join us by 12 noon on Saturday the 24th May, 2014 at the CCHub
294 Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba.

Hello Africa, We need your help with evaluating translation quality for some of our "promising" African languages.

HAUSAhttp://goo.gl/F0QL8N *IGBO*: http://goo.gl/f88nwa *SOMALI*: http://goo.gl/O14fiQ *YORUBA*: http://goo.gl/uA5uxK *ZULU*: http://goo.gl/NE9g6c

We need speakers of these languages to help rate our current machine translation system.
Thanks and happy translating :)

Cross Platform Mobile Apps Development Event -
Android, Windows, Blackberry*, Nokia S40, iOS... these are all platforms for mobile devices.

When it comes to developing mobile applications, sometimes we as developers are required to build for more than one of these platforms. And developing mobile applications for multiple platforms is a challenging task.

Join us at CCHub this Saturday August 31 at 12 noon for a session on Cross Platform Mobile Apps Development where we will review the most popular tools for building them, if and when we should do this and the best approaches to it.

There will also be a demonstration of one of these approaches - by building a useful example of a cross platform app.

To register for this event, all you have to do is click on "Yes I'm am going" on this page -
