Sharing our experience: Dart in production
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8289886
I don't get this, why would you use something like Dart which is incredibly immature across the full stack? I would have thought it would be more feasible to create something with already proven technology...is there something in Dart that I am missing which makes it considerably better than ...

Thanks for sharing. It is nice to read Dart experiences from teams outside Google.

今天討論的時候有提到 StackOverflow 型的 moderation system 裡面會遇到的挑戰。 (老手與新手的戰爭)

I'm seeing a rapid trend towards worse and worse question quality. It gets to the point where I'm asking myself *"Why did I even help this guy? He neither has the will nor the capacity to understand the answer; I have just been wasting my time". That happens more and more often lately and is pretty frustrating. Could be that this is the filter bubble effect of the tags I've chosen on my home page (mostly webdev stuff). Maybe other topics aren't o...

Couchfake, an inferior in-memory mimic of Couchbase JS client. I made this so I don't need to wait for their 2.0.2 release. Couchbase is a really interesting database. Check out Couchbase if you are the kind of person who naturally thinks in MapReduce.

Thanks to Dart's power, we took care of effect infrastructure without adding anything in the API. This is something you don't see everyday. Next up is todoMVC.

+Simon Pai released a blog post in which he explains how to work on cool visual effects in Rikulo!
Have a look! http://blog.rikulo.org/posts/2012/Nov/Tutorial/visual-effects-in-rikulo/

Rikulo provides EL in Dart now. With Dart's list and map literals and []= operator, EL is even slightly easier to write than in Java.

The first draft of DQuery + Bootjack took me less than 3 weeks (to achieve what you'd see in the blog post). This has to be attributed to the good nature of Bootstrap, for they somehow make a great contract between js and CSS so that the coupling between them are almost minimized. It seems they really spent the effort to code less, not more.

+Simon Pai talks about our DQuery based project Bootjack

Bootjack is a project porting Twitter Bootstrap into +Dart's world. Following Bootstrap's original implementation, Bootjack was built upon DQuery, a Dart porting of jQuery.

Check out his blog post! http://blog.rikulo.org/posts/2013/May/General/bootjack-and-dquery/

Nothing concrete against expandos- just a certain lack of elegance. But for matching existing API semantics they're probably necessary.

This is a slightly different design choice than the one in jQuery. Works very well with Dart IMO.
