My mother and I stopped in after a day traveling from Nashville to Memphis. Excited to eat some of our favorite cuisine, we were terribly disappointed and ultimately had to send the entire entrees (both!) back and requested to not pay! The tea (mint) was terrible and undrinkable. I ordered the falafel plate and while we were waiting for our meals, heard the microwave chime, indicating (along with the fact that we were the only patrons in the place) that something was being microwaved! The rice can hardly be called jasmine and was awful, the falafel were frozen and not fresh whatsoever, the tabbouli was blah, even the pita seemingly was not fresh. The only thing we could consume was the bottled water! My mother's turkey pita contained LUNCH-MEAT turkey, onions (even though she asked for "no onions") and no avocado (even though the menu indicated it was included in the sandwich). Although the cook and server tried to offer us other dishes, we were legitimately concerned with food poisoning and even though we were starving and love middle-eastern cuisine, this place was the worst we had both ever visited! Ultimately, we went to Panera and had a brief but edible dinner. Terrible experience, do NOT recommend!

Excellent chicken shawarma. Had a combo with fries for relatively cheap. Place could be a little cleaner but otherwise decent.

We were also the only patrons, although it was early, and the day was cold and overcast. Service was very fast. Food was fantastic. Had hummus, lamb gyro, falafal, baba ghanouj. All were great. Came to $16 for all of that. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other things. Good-sized portions. Took some home in a doggie-bag. Only con was that some of the tables didn't look like they had been wiped down all the way-- although our table was clean.

Great falafel and great hummus. Zaytoon is small, but a gem. Good for kids, too.

I LOVE this restaurant - there is a cook here name Atiya and he does his best to not only remember your face, but to remember whether or not you have any food preferences. I eat one of three or four different items when I go every time, but he remembers that I won't eat the cucumber dip (so he doesn't give it to me). I've only ever had one bad food experience but it was easily remedied. Plus, it's cheap!
