Fascinating read for anyone interested in a real world use case for geospatial analysis. Drones are increasingly being relied upon to enable precision warfare but as with any enabling technology there are many debates about how to best apply the technology.

Excellent article. Thanks +Andre Kearns for sharing. I love the concept of "trade over aid" as a way to continue development efforts across Africa

Time to change how we think of Africa. This is a continent on the rise, home to six of the world's 10 fastest growing economies.

Really fascinating article on Hilary Clinton's many contributions as our nation's top diplomat.

It made me think of Rudyard Kipling's poem "If"

She has definitely had to "keep her head when all about her were losing theirs and blaming it on her ", "walk with kings but not lose the common touch", "dream but not make dreams her master, think but not make thoughts her aim, live with triumph and disaster and treat those two impostors just the same"

I applaud Secretary Clinton's service. She is a great role model for girls and boys around the world particularly in our ever increasing connected and volatile world.

Interesting how geospatial analysis can be applied to prevent the spread of infectious disease. I need to learn more about the USAID sponsored Predict program.

‘Lost Boys’ Peril Returns in Sudan

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/01/world/africa/from-sudan-a-new-wave-of-lost-boys.html

Really a heartbreaking story. Helping these children and other internally displaced people find camp locations where they can be safe and access food is no small task. This could be good use case for GeoEye Analytics.

Cool summary of how open health data could enable innovation similar to what we have seen with GPS. Pretty amazing that free GPS data has driven $90B in commercial economic development.
