Fascinating read for anyone interested in a real world use case for geospatial analysis. Drones are increasingly being relied upon to enable precision warfare but as with any enabling technology there are many debates about how to best apply the technology.

‘Lost Boys’ Peril Returns in Sudan

Really a heartbreaking story. Helping these children and other internally displaced people find camp locations where they can be safe and access food is no small task. This could be good use case for GeoEye Analytics.

Very cool new map visualization capability via Google Maps API
Ashburn, Virginia
At SXSW Interactive in 2011, I attended a session on geotemporal data visualization that made me keen to make it easier for Maps API developers to build visualizations similar to those discussed. For ...

Cool summary of how open health data could enable innovation similar to what we have seen with GPS. Pretty amazing that free GPS data has driven $90B in commercial economic development.
Washington Metro
Two years ago, the potential of government making health information as useful as weather data may well have felt like an abstraction to many observers. In June 2012, real health apps and services are...

Excellent article. Thanks +Andre Kearns for sharing. I love the concept of "trade over aid" as a way to continue development efforts across Africa

Time to change how we think of Africa. This is a continent on the rise, home to six of the world's 10 fastest growing economies.

Really fascinating article on Hilary Clinton's many contributions as our nation's top diplomat.

It made me think of Rudyard Kipling's poem "If"

She has definitely had to "keep her head when all about her were losing theirs and blaming it on her ", "walk with kings but not lose the common touch", "dream but not make dreams her master, think but not make thoughts her aim, live with triumph and disaster and treat those two impostors just the same"

I applaud Secretary Clinton's service. She is a great role model for girls and boys around the world particularly in our ever increasing connected and volatile world.

Pretty awesome use case for applying predictive modeling to lower the cost of education. Today teachers limit the number of essays they assign because they are too expensive to grade. This contest aspires to partially automate the process.

Super cool new feature. Bringing web insights into the flow of work is what it is all about.

The research pane in Google documents is a handy, new feature that makes it simple to find and add content to your doc—without ever having to leave it.

You can access the research pane in any Google document from the “tools” menu. Once you’re there, search for a topic, just like you would on Google. Then read more about it or drag and drop one of the images straight into your doc. If it's appropriate, a footnote citation will be automatically added so there’s a record of where you found the info.

With the research pane, you can find and embed a photo of an early prototype of a lightbulb into a research paper on Thomas Edison, add a map of Italy to the doc you’re using with friends to plan an upcoming trip, or easily do competitive research for your next big pitch.

Find out more in our blog post: http://goo.gl/aoahw. Try putting this #gonegoogle tip to work and then let us know what you’re researching.
