i totally forgot about google+ for some reason. i think anyone following me already knows i finished that forget-me-not pc/mac version which is the last thing i said on here....... now back to other things. i was stalking people via hits to my blog and found some forum that i don't know what it is and it has a great thread which made me feel familiarly strange and excited: http://www.saltw.net/index.php?topic=82033.0

PC port of Forget-Me-Not is coming along.. going to try to get it on the WinnitronAU! Sound problems and crashing are fixed.. joystick support is in.. made lots of little gameplay tweaks. There's just going to be one mode in this version - a slightly harder/faster arcade mode. (gotta keep people pumping in the 20 cent coins ;p). Exciting! I can't wait to see the Winnitron at Freeplay this year.

Playing with openFrameworks some more.. after much forum searching, finding outdated code snippets and such, got FBOs + shaders working (thanks for mentioning that stuff +Simon Windmill!) .. very nice playground for learning shaders, though I haven't quite managed to reconstruct the look of my game as it was with the previous glCopyTex stuff.

Then I saw there's a much much newer version of oF than I was using, on git - which has all the FBO/shader stuff built in >_<

oF seems great. C++ people wanting to learn some fancy modern gfx stuff, check it out. Using a shader is all like... "make new shader thing. load shader code into it. turn it on. turn it off. turn it on again. keep drawing your normal stuff in the same way you were before, if you want to."...it Just Works etcetc. 8) ... haven't tried it on iOS yet though ...

Haven't done much more with this game yet, still messing with pretty effects. I really like this one.

tonight i have been messing around making a shooty game with openFrameworks (C++ lib for making shiny things with). no proper gameplay yet except in my head..just some very simple but pretty feedback fx. openFrameworks seems nice, makes things super easy.

looking through backups, found some of my old unfinished games src. blitzmax is fun times. the first one was going to be a Double Dragon style beat-em-up, set in my hometown. second one was a big explory platformer. i'd totally forgotten about the third... 3D thing with weird stuff in space. gotta try to do 3D again!

it'd be cool to have a go at restarting some of this old stuff.. looking at the code i can see why i didn't get far :) at the time i had no clue how to join up all the bits of game into an overarching structure. (not sure i do now either. levelled up quite a bit since then though...)
