We agree with your conclusions too, +Robert Norris

Long ago I did an epic flying leap onto the Google Wave bandwangon. Then it all rolled off a cliff. I wrote about that at the time, so there's not much more to say. Go read that if you're interested in what I thought then. I just reread it, and I agree with my conclusions :)

http://eatenbyagrue.org/low_tide.html

A few days ago I started working on a skunkworks project with a good friend of mine. We had to work out a way to communicate that worked well for us. I love IRC, he doesn't. We tried private G+ posts but after only a couple of rounds I couldn't find things, and I found it hard to keep track of the insane and wildly-diverging streams of conversations.

So we had a bit of a chat about how to chat, and I remembered that not long after Wave died,+Rizzoma.com launched based on the server code Google released at the time.

And now I remember why I loved Wave. We've already got two topics running, a general chatter and random rubbish page and a more structured todo list and link dump. I just had an actual realtime conversation with my friend, which I haven't done in months (because he don't do IRC), and it seemed fairly productive I thought.

If this pans out I can see myself using Rizzoma a lot more in the future.

(PS. friend, deliberately didn't mention your name because I'm not sure how much we're wanting to advertise at this point. Not that its hard to figure it out I guess!).

Our bugbusters fixed the problem with ghostly tasks, mentions and blips which sometimes suddenly appeared even after you deleted them.

So if there's something strange in Rizzoma you know who you gonna call, right? http://ow.ly/n5ANI

Today we released new editor interface with two modes. There are two different uses of Rizzoma — reading and editing. Action to insert a new comment wasn't obvious and there were lots of feedback about annoying random edits.

Truly contextual button appeared. It allows to switch on Editing mode or insert new comment. Two Save buttons switch back to Reading mode.

Replies redesigned in Facebook-friendly style. What do you think about it? Check out changes and leave your feedback here http://goo.gl/inuAi

I still like old #googlewave  blips editing interface a bit more, it somehow made an impression on me as more clean. But this one is better than was before.

Rizzoma and Mobile: Perfect Together

As you may recall, Google Wave was a fantastic experiment in realtime collaboration, but amongst its list of significant technology shortcomings was very weak mobile performance. The Web page version of Google Wave never really worked very well at all and most apps for Google Wave were just light packaging overlaid on the same fundamental performance and usability issues.

If that was your impression of what Wave could do on a mobile platform, your impressions are about to change - big time. +Rizzoma.com, the leader in post-Google Wave commercial development of Wave technologies, has just launched its mobile version of Rizzoma, based on Wave concepts but reworked heavily for performance and usability. So far, I am truly impressed - not just as someone who advocates strongly for Wave technologies but also just from the perspective of someone who wants to get things done.

The Rizzoma mobile app loads smoothly and login is simple, either via a native Rizzoma login or via Google or Facebook IDs. the interface is clean, easy to use and remarkably readable and navigable - the "next" button in the upper right hand corner makes it easy to navigate between items within a wave (or topic, in Rizzoma-ese) and adding a new reply is very simple as well. Editing and new messages is limited to plain text, but rich content such as videos and images display nicely.

This is an excellent balance of functionality for a mobile app, allowing conversations to continue whilst you're on the road or away from your desk but still allowing you to get the full flavor of what a wave offers. Rizzoma's feature set has been building steadily over the past year, and while it is still overall a single-design service for multiple purposes, its flexiblity and usability offers a huge chunk of what Google Wave promised and generally delivered on a stable and highly functional platform. I strongly recommend giving it a try.

Communicate and collaborate in Real-Time
Introduction
It's a collaborative tool that tracks the context of your conversation automatically, allowing you to grow a conversation wherever you need and keep track of all the changes and additions in one place. Rizzoma also helps information stay organized by allowing you to structure your documents in ways that make sense to you.
Idea of this project came from our experience with google wave. We launch rizzoma on Jan 2012. Now google wave users can use rizzoma as alternative or replacement for google wave
