This place was way over priced..... the staff phoned in their service, if you want to call it that. The hotel restaurant "13" was the worst ....I was pointed to a table and a dirty menu was given to me and when the waiter started to pour water I noticed the glass was filthy. Indeed, we could not find a clean glass on the table...(a 4 top), all had lip marks from a previous guests. We went to 5 different tables to find all water glasses were filthy! Spot marks, food stuck on them, again lip and mouth marks on the glasses, etc... I had to request a new highball glass before I could drink the water... lord knows how dirty the rest of the coffee cups, plates, etc... were. The housekeeping staff had to be called 4 times before a chair was brought to our room....our housekeeper in the room was good. The toilet was broken...we had to call twice to fix it....The Marriott concept of a "handy cap room" was off considerably... only one grab bar near the tub, nothing inside the tub to hold on to, nothing by the toilet, nor the sink area...Check in/out was fast and without an issue..The concierge staff was good and made wonderful dinner arrangements but the rest, like the door men, the porters, the baggage men, need instruction on what the service industry really is. More than once, a collection of doormen standing by the door never greeted or opened the door, we must have counted 60-75 guests enter and not one was greeted or asked if they needed help... I felt like this hotel was a motor inn... kind of "self help" place...I felt the hotel was tired...dirty and not at all what I expected. It is not an attractive hotel... not by a long shot.....The car park and baggage men unloading the car experience was awful.....cars trying to get in were stuck in a line all the way into the street for 15-20 min ... no movement...and WE had to unloaded the car....again, no welcome nothing... just awful. Not going back

My DH and I wanted somewhere to stay for my birthday weekend and decided on this hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable and the whole place its self was great. It is close to attraction sites. We took a night walk to Pennslanding and enjoyed it very much. I will consider going here again.

Very nice rooms with comfortable beds! This is centrally located pretty much near everything. VERY close to a market with over 100 different places to eat that are very well priced and delicious. Rooms are a little pricey but decent for what you get. NO FREE Wifi or breakfast, ticks me off but other than that it was a great stay for a week in Philly.

Great hotel. Perfect location. We stayed for a few days during the Army-Navy game in Dec 2013, and the place is so well run we were glad we didn't choose some other location. The manager (Ross F) really helped us out with a small issue we had where we had messed up on an aspect of our reservations, personally making sure it got resolved for us. The concierge (Michael) was a huge help, with deep knowledge about local restaurants and places we could take our large group during a very busy time in that area.. He was also quite a character with a warm personality and bouncing energy. The restaurant (especially breakfast buffet) is affordable $$ and very good. Even the housekeeping staff was pleasant and responsive during our 3 day stay. If you need to stay anywhere downtown Philly, check out this hotel. I know we will definitely stay there whenever we are coming through the area again. You should too!

Stayed here for a work-related event. I have no complaints with the service. Every Philadelphia Marriott Downtown employee was courteous & friendly. Always greeted you, no matter what time of the day it was. The room was decent sized, the bed comfortable.

Great location, close to trains and central to the market and dining/toursity areas. Room comfortable and room service relatively reasonable.
