Thanks for this Susan. You've encouraged me to write a #MeToo  piece as well. It will be out December 1.
Happy Holidays. xoxo

I agree, Susan. I never thought about reviews when I began my memoir journey. I just wanted to get my story out and keep on doing what I love. I'm sure some of the bad reviews would have stopped me if they were important to my writing work. But like you, I keep going. Of course good reviews are nice but certainly not why I write.

Susan, I think you're already doing what the march is meant to inspire. Hopefully the women who march will go on to do the work of electing a person all women can vote for next time. The fact that 53% of all white women didn't vote for Hillary is stunning!

Lovely piece, Susan, Thanks for sharing about the retreat. I'm still sorry I couldn't be there. I would have loved to connect via Skype as well. Best regards to your retreat buddies, and all best for finding your muse.

(My husband goes in for a couple more tests tomorrow. We're keeping our fingers crossed.)

What a wonderful tour, Susan. Thanks for introducing us to Virginia Woolf's shabbily chic cottage. Her writing has always captivated me. I must go there the next time we go across the pond.

Although I loved Didion's A Year of Magical Thinking, I didn't resonate as much with Blue Nights. I felt it was more about Didion's precious china and clothes and lifestyle rather than the loss of her child. I know. I lost a child too, which I wrote about in my memoir, Leaving the Hall Light On: A Mother's Memoir of Living with Her Son's Bipolar Disorder and Surviving His Suicide. I'd love for you to check it out.

Thanks Susan for hosting Sonia. Her story is truly inspiring and gutsy. Since I first met Sonia two - three years ago I've certainly learned a lot from her. I plan to share this post with an author on her first virtual book tour. Hopefully Sonia's words will help her as she takes her first steps in marketing her book. Hugs to you both.

Congratulations, Susan. I so look forward to reading your new book. I loved your other two, and I'm sure this new one will be wonderful. What a great way to intersperse memoir and fiction. And what a tribute to your late husband. I wish you huge success.
