Australian federal government has joined the Open Government Partnership. One of the requirements for participation is to develop a Action Plan that addresses at least one 'grand challenge' such as improving public services, increasing public integrity, creating safer communities, and increasing corporate accountability.

Will be interesting to see what Australia chooses.

In the press release, the Attorney General Mark Dreyfus says this will "assist Australia to spread the values of transparency and accountability in our region.” Our nearest neighbour, Indonesia, joined the Open Government Partnership as a founder member in 2011.

Looks like the W3C process to standardise a Do Not Track implementation has crashed off the rails with Mozilla's pre-emptive move to prevent 3rd party cookie tracking.
