Adi Da spent a year as a seminarian at St Vladimirs Seminary in the USA - he was given the name Seraphim after Saint Seraphim, the life & teachings of whom he (especially) studied.
He was previously the prize-winning student at a Lutheran seminary in Philadelphia - the "learned" professors had zero understanding of and sympathy for esoteric Spiritual religion. While at the Lutheran seminary he got distinctions in every course that he took - which is remarkable because he was not in any sense a Christian and really had NO sympathy for any of it.
He did it as a discipline as a response to the demand of his then Guru or Spiritual Master Swami Rudrananda.  Adi Da (then Franklin Jones) was considered to be "crazy" by the other students of Swami Rudrananda because he did everything that Rudi demanded of him, without question or complaint - he was thus called "crazy Franklin".
He went to St Vladimir's because they at least in theory had some kind of connection to an esoteric form of Spiritual religion. But he soon found that their primary interest was all of the usual politics of sectarian nationalism as it was then (and always had been) dramatized in Russia and Eastern Europe. The actual practice of esoteric Spiritual religion barely entered the picture. Of course they didnt know  how to.
Such is of course obviously the same with you and all of the usual suspects or "authorities" that you associate with

Have you ever noticed that none of the heavy-weight dudes that promote what Aquinas had to say ever use the word Consciousness with a Capital C, or even a small c for that matter. Nor do they refer to Light which is the Energy of Consciousness. Which is quite strange because Consciousness and Light are the two irreducible aspects of Reality.
