Vignette 8: Summer Trim! Dramatically pared back the beard but left a bushy moustache. Unikitty will not approve. #lego

Brick Sketch 40: Rerun!

Last week's Flash Brick Sketch was based on the costume in the current television show, featuring dark red hues and subdued details. And that was okay for the show's fans, but it didn't sit as well with folks more familiar with the Flash's comic book appearance. Fair enough. So here you go – a traditional Flash!

Exploring the possibility of a lilac bonsai, using the lavender leaf elements found in the new Lego Elves sets. It's got a fun, almost otherworldly quality to it.

My recent rendition of Star-Lord prompted talk about the height/relief of Brick Sketches. Here's a comparison. Despite using 2 x 2 round brick elements, Star-Lord is the same height as Vision. But he was a tricky build, extending down into the frame by one plate to minimize overall height. Vision and Flash use a different kind of trick – they're raised one plate above the colored base in order to offset them by 1/2 stud vertically. So it's difficult to determine who is the tallest, because it all depends where you start to count. ‪#‎lego‬

My minifig-scale arcade cabinet has actually been brewing in the brick lab for months, but it was only in the past two weeks that I brought things to a boil. And as these things go, I essentially threw out what I had and started over.

I tend to keep all the prototypes I generate until well after I launch a new building guide/custom kit. It's always interesting to look back and see how much a simple model can change throughout development! #lego

Introduction
Once upon a time, I was born. Then I grew up and did some stuff, and some people even thought I was cool. You know, for like eight minutes. That was fun.
