The brunch menu feels more appropriate for a snack than for a meal. It will quickly be costly if you are hungry. The 5 smørrebrød combo can be shared but that would also be fine for one person. The smørrebrød are all tasty with a personal preference for the beef tartare one.

Great dining experience, everything was excellent: the decor and ambience, the service, the presentation of each dish and of course the flavors. They offer a lot of sharing dishes so it a good place to go with a group so that you can try as many dishes as possible.

We've been to bar tartine for dinner and brunch. They have a good wine and decent beer selection. The food is a little mixture of Eastern European meets Asia. Good sandwiches and their bread is from Tartine bakery! Can't go wrong!

Liked it with reservations - as a true, Eastern European Bohemian (Czech basin for those who went to public school), I can't imagine going back to enjoy my people's food, constantly. It reminds me of Benu, in the idea that it's an experience you sort of must have to understand the diversity of San Francisco's dining scene, but it's not a place you could easily return, time and time again. However, I am sure their are Mission-ites who might frequent the spot each weekend for brunch. It's a concise menu that offers plenty of experiences, but I feel one visit gently exposed their depth such that I can move on... We did the bread with dips, pickles, sweet flatbread, savory flatbread, potatoes, Rainbow Trout, Meatballs in gulyas broth, the Rueben, and avocado toast. All were a treat, delicious, and different (except the Rueben, which was a faithful adpation beautifull executed). Odd place. Nice servers. Quaint and pretty space.

This restaurant is very trendy. It's a great place for a date. I ordered the potato flatbread, which was very good. They don't have hard liquor, just need and wine. I did order some weird cocktail that they got from tap, which was mediocre. The dessert (rye pudding) were ok. Prices are steep! They have seasonal menus so I would come back to try other dishes if they really sounded good to me.

Bar Tartine is a good choice on the Valencia strip. My experience with the food and drink there has been mostly positive, though not always consistent and up to the same level of execution of some other restaurants in the area. At the same time their Hungarian theme is unique and can lead to some pleasant surprises.
