Hi Justin Lam

Seems that your Google settings doesnt allow me to reply your comment? :(

Fyi as mentioned in my post, my last info for your query is as of December 2015 where my friend's taxi journey one from Taoyuan airport to her Taichung hotel for her family of 4 costs her TWD 5,400

Regards
Wendy

Hi everyone,

I receive a Google notification on the following but couldn't find it in the comments, so here goes my reply:

"Joanna Choo commented on your web page
Hi Wendy, Do you have tips on how to book the HSR via online ticketing? inputting the passport number, mobile no. etc."

Hi Joanna,

Thanks for your message - no special tips, but here's some guidelines on how you can book the HSR online

Online booking page:
https://www.thsrc.com.tw/index_en.html?force=1

You can select the station you are departing from, and which to arrive at, the date of departure as well as the desired departure time. You can also check the HSR schedule and Fare table at https://www.thsrc.com.tw/en/TimeTable/SearchResult

Do input your passport number correctly (same as when purchasing TRA tickets). I recall the officers asking to check my passport when I collect my tickets at the HSR/TRA stations.

You can also choose to collect your tickets from convenience stores. This is one of the ideal collection locations for me, as I often arrive at Taiwan at weird hours, or forget to collect at HSR/TRA stations. Do note there is a 'convenience fee' payable at the convenience stalls. If I recall correctly, it costs about TWD 8 per ticket at 7-11 when collecting TRA tickets in March 2017

Have fun in Taiwan!

Regards,
Wendy

"This is a common mistake that brands make as well when approaching APAC: they assume a homogenous culture when there isn’t one."

Hi Megan, weirdly the comment system doesn't allow me to reply your comment directly. I pay Mr Liu's drivers in cash when they drop me off at the last destination on the last day.
