KpH Group helped raise £8475 in May this year to buy a Minibus for our local Sea Cadets branch in Caterham. We produced advertising materials, campaigned for sponsorship and even offered up members of our staff for a grueling 185 mile sponsored bike ride to achieve the target. We are proud to support the Sea Cadets because they not only make an incredible contribution to our local community but they also offer a stable, nurturing and happy environment for local children and teenagers.

Acting as Principal Contractor, KpH Deconstruction undertook works at St Ann's Shopping Centre in Harrow over an 11 week period (we improved upon the client’s 12 week programme whilst incorporating additional variation works). The programme involved soft strip across 3 floors including the removal of Mechanical and Electrical services from the Plant Room down to the Ground Level, 2 escalators and 2 Hydraulic Lifts (including demolition of a lift shaft from Level 2 to Ground Floor). The site was contained within a live shopping centre so we had to consider the impact to the public and work alongside centre management to mitigate noise pollution. We put protective measures in place to ensure that there was no damage to the remaining screed floor throughout the building.

KpH Group sponsored Amy Hathaway, KpH Deconstruction’s Business Development Coordinator, to walk from Kempton Park Race Course to Slinfold near Horsham in Surrey to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Despite very little training, preparation (or sense!) the team made it to the 35 mile check point and were elated to discover that their total sponsorship reached £882 for the cause!

KpH Deconstruction undertook a 17 week programme to strip-out a Grade 2 Listed Building (Ground through to 3rd Floor) at 123 Green Lane in Birmingham for Vulcan Property Contractors. Works included the removal of interior fittings, walls, all services and asbestos. Additional works included core drilling and wall chasing for the new services. This project was particularly challenging because great care had to be taken to protect the structure of the existing listed building and features. There was also many other contactors working on site simultaneously which we had to co-ordinate effectively.

It was our Director, Kevin Potter’s, 50th Birthday this year and, to show how much KpH staff appreciate him, we pulled out all the stops to arrange a fun-packed surprise party for him at the Harrow in Caterham. Kevin did eventually forgive us for the shock and embarrassment we inflicted on him, and I think he was even secretly touched that so many of his employees had travelled from sites as far as Birmingham to celebrate with him. All had a great evening, thankfully including Kevin!
