One HUGE part Ian is missing is customer research. I really hope his team does some form of this. I think The data is great, but his exclusively quantitative approach is going to miss things that the qualitative data from talking to your customers gives (and you can get quantitative from them too).
In all honesty reading this was a bit validating that there's an opportunity for distilled to carve out a USP here in developing content strategies with a sophisticated level of both qualitative and quantitative data.
