Calling all creative students grades 7-12, we’re holding a design cover contest for our Vision Zero 2020 Action Plan Report and we want YOU to design it! The Vision Zero 2020 Action Plan report serves as our roadmap to achieve zero fatalities and severe injuries as a result of traffic accidents to zero by 2020. Fremont requests your assistance! Join us on January 31, 2017 from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. as we conduct a countywide count of the number of homeless individuals in our community. You will work alongside homeless or formerly homeless guides and be given a one-hour training at least one week prior to the event. At the January 10 Special City Council meeting, the Fremont City Council appointed David Bonaccorsi as Fremont’s new councilmember to fill the vacancy after Lily Mei was elected to serve as mayor. Mr. Bonaccorsi will be officially sworn in to office at the February 7, 2017 Council meeting. He will serve as councilmember for approximately two years until the results of the November 2018 General Municipal Election are certified and a newly elected councilmember is seated. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and able to walk 2-3 miles (if needed). A training will be given at least one week before the event.
