LOVED the super green smoothie, though I'm guessing it had a lot of maple syrup or agave in it to make it taste so good. The "flatbread pizza" was pretty good, but I only had a bite, so I'm not sure how all those spices are when consumed in larger quantities. The sweet and spicy collards (side item with pizza) were mostly just spicy. The taco salad was weird--there was yellow mustard on it. The fruit salad (also side item with pizza) was EXCELLENT (I'm eating it right now for breakfast). Everything was expensive...our light dinner was over $35...$8 for a 16 oz. smoothie is probably what did it. And I'm guessing nut meat isn't cheap, and all those organically certified veggies can make for a low profit margin. Overall, I feel good after eating there, but I had to make myself finish it and I just didn't really like the food to crave it again...ever...but I probably will stop in for a smoothie after my run today. There was also a bar with liquor, which I thought was weird--liquor and beer aren't technically raw, but whatever. I'm also pretty skeptical of the herbal supplements they sell--expensive and I couldn't find seals that referenced certification by USP, ConsumerLab, or NSF...I'll look again next time I'm in there. The soaps smelled good, though.

This is THE SPOT. I'm not a vegetarian or a vegan. But my wife and I love to try new things. So we dropped by around 10:15am and Catherine helped us (Catherine is GREAT by the way). She was very very pleasant and since this was our first time, she explained the menu of how they prepare the food. My wife ordered the Almond Butter Bacon Sandwich (almond butter, maple syrup & eggplant “bacon” served on their sweet bread) and I ordered the Burrito (walnut meat, salsa, lettuce, cashew sour cream, guacamole, served in their flax wrap). Let me tell you something: WE WERE BLOWN AWAY. Now you have to remember, everything they prepare is RAW. From their website, "If you are new to raw foods, they consist of unprocessed plant foods that have not been heated above 115 degrees.". And both dishes were FULL of flavor, good portion size, and FULL of flavor. Which basically mean: DELICIOUS! And did I mention the food is RAW? The interior of the cafe is modern with being futuristic and sets a good mood. This is place for vegans and non-vegans. Vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Give it a try.

Best food on planet earth!! Sharon is an amazing talented whole foods chef. The smoothies are not only the most healthy you will find, but delicious in every way. If you want to feel and look your very best, RAW food is the way to go and Sharon has perfected it. The new downtown location is just gorgeous and has a nice vibe. I give Good Life Cafe 5 stars because there is no place like it!

I really wanted to like this place as vegan restaurants are far and few between. Unfortunately, my family and I did not have a good experience there. We had never been there before so it was my pick for Mother's Day. I ordered the buffet, confident I would find a few dishes I enjoyed. The buffet was $25 - not cheap. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy any of the food, and the selection was not that great. The rest of my family ordered off the menu, but did not have much better luck. The service was very mediocre as the waitress did not seem like she wanted to be there at all. It was an expensive meal and not very good food or service. Unless you are a hard-core vegan who appreciates very off-beat tastes, I would not recommend it. We were disappointed.

I ate there with my girlfriend one night about two weeks ago just following a spontaneous moment. We had no expectations, if anything we thought " How good could it be?" after all they don't cook any of the food. Without going into detail about what we ate and steering clear of hyperbole you owe it to yourself to go and eat here. The tastes they manage to bring out of the dishes we had was nothing short of amazing.

A friend of mine and I went to Good Life Vegan on Main Street (unfortunately I can’t a find a review site for them) and we had a surprise that we did not see coming. No one would wait on us! A male server eyed us when we came in and then turned his head and went in another direction. The other servers appeared occupied doing other things. We went and sat down and the same male server walked past our table as though we were not there. He left and came in our direction again and we thought he was coming to bring us water and a menu, but instead he walked past us again and proceeded to engage in conversation with a man sitting at a table next to us. He talked long with this guy as he occasionally laughed during the conversation. A couple later walked in the restaurant after us and a female server immediately greeted them and told them she would be right with them. They (the couple) sat at a table on the other side of us and the female server immediately got a menu and water for them, while the male server, who was to wait on us, continued to laugh and talk with the guy sitting at the table on the other side of us. After several minutes of waiting I finally got up and asked a server behind the counter was anyone going to wait on us and she gave some response about a shortage of help in the kitchen. I did not understand what that had to do with no one serving us. When I got back to my table the male server had left from talking with his friend at the other table and was now somewhere in the back. We waited again a little longer and then decided to leave because we were concern as to what might happen with our food with all this ignoring of us going on. We left the restaurant and went to the theatre hungry because of the wasted time at the restaurant. Before I wrote this review, I decided to call and talk with the manager because I did not want to believe that we were ignored for service at Good Life Vegan. After talking to the manager the next day, she made it known that she was there that day as well. She described the man who was sitting at the table next to us and was aware that her male server was engaged in conversation with this other customer next to us. I did ask her was there something wrong with my friend and I as to why we were not served and of course she did not confirm anything. The manager never convinced me that she shun such behavior in her restaurant nor did I hear sincere disappointed that we experience that. So, unfortunately, here I am. I will end by adding that my friend and I are both people of color. People come on, this is the 21st Century!
