No-frills Chinese spot serving salt & pepper chicken wings, Peking duck & egg foo young.- Google
"Alas, even the highly touted salt pepper chicken wings had very little flavor."
"All in all Golden Chopsticks has big portions and decent prices."

We ate here three times during our one week stay in San Diego. Food portions were very large and were great. Service was also very good. We ate the Lo Mein Noodles in Chicken and Beef, Mongolian Beef, Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, and BBQ Fried Rice. All were excellent. We woudl go back again if we are in town.

I love Golden Chopsticks! It's a favorite of our family. Nothing really ambitious though, it's like a fallback if we can't decide where to go. We always get the salt and pepper chicken, the house noodles (minus the shrimp and calamari), fried rice and the chicken and snow peas.

Best salted pepper chicken wings I've ever had!!! They also make their fried rice very well (I'm picky)

National City i'm beginning to gather is the place to go for Chinese food (i.e., THIS place, Royal Mandarin, and Chinese Canton Bakery). At Golden Chopsticks they have a number of other dishes that are pretty authentic. At this visit, the boyfriend and I shared a bbq pork fried rice, mongolian beef, and shrimp and original noodles chow mein. Okay so the items we ordered are popularly more Chinese American dishes, but this place keeps the flavor so as to steer away from that stigma. The chow mein could have used more sauce but still was very tasty. Favorite dish out of the three and is a must try is the bbq pork fried rice. Not too salty or greasy and their is a ton of pork so it's like having another entree instead of just rice. The mongolian beef is juicy, saucy, and tender. Love the abundance of green onions on this dish. You'll also notice when looking around at other tables they are popular for their chow mein, salt and pepper wings, and cream cheese wontons. All in all Golden Chopsticks has big portions and decent prices. It's also a nicer and cleaner cheap Chinese restaurant.

They just remodeled; it was a home-project job, detail wort not their forte. Waiter was disinterested in taking our order, or even serving what was eventually served (which was NOT our order). This was never a great restaurant but it had been adequate for some dishes. The emphasis is more Island variety than authentic Chinese, but some dishes were very interesting. Perhaps they have had a change in ownership and menu Food was inedible, service was non-existent and staff disinterested. For the first time in many years I left no tip
