First, to Eric:

I would say that, just as your choice to make when you decided to come out to your family, so do they have their choice to make. Sit down and talk with them about your concerns. You don't want to lose them, obviously.  And I'm pretty certain that they don't want to lose you. I'm also pretty sure that neither you nor they want them to be shunned by your family/community. It's clear that you love them, and they you. Talk about it. Come to a solution together, as a family.

As for me:

When I came out to my father, well....there's a YouTube video about that somewhere...short version, he was fine with it.

When I came out to my mother's side of the family, the reception was vastly more....chilly. My mother had gay friends when she was in school, but apparently, this was a little too close to home. I was okay with that. I was sure we could work through it. My step-father said, "Well just don't be gay around me".  I wasn't quite sure how to do that. I'd ALWAYS been gay around him and he'd never had a problem with it.  I know that he meant not to act flamey and effeminate. I've never been that way anyway (except for comedic purposes).

Over the next few years, I got into a relationship with a wonderful guy (we're not together anymore, but we're still friends and he's still wonderful (Love ya, Bear!)) and while on the phone with my mom, she asked when I was coming home to visit. I said that we could probably get some free time...but she wasn't keen on me bringing my husband with me. I told her that I wasn't coming back without him....and there was some phone slamming a short while later.

Some time after that, I provided my mother with a list of every PFLAG chapter in the greater Dallas metroplex. She was in Overeaters Anonymous....she knows how effective groups like that can be.

To my knowledge, she has never called any of them.

I haven't spoken to my mother or step-father in over a decade.  My father, I speak to quite regularly and we have an awesome relationship.

DO NOT model your situation after mine. We are each very different, even if only in very subtle ways. Don't disown your family because our situations sound similar. The loss is more agonizing than you might think.

While watching this video, one of my first thoughts was whether or not Liam and his boyfriend have met in person yet. If not, then as much as I wish I didn't have to say this...they don't really know one another. All they know of each other is what they have chosen to show. An edited, polished, perfected version of who they really are in person.

This is not to say that the relationship won't work or that they're not right for one another. I simply mean to say that until they've spent more than a few hours together, Liam doesn't have enough data to decide whether or not this is the person he wants to share his first time with. And Russ, you're absolutely correct that if the boyfriend is disappointed or unwilling to be patient enough to wait for Liam to truly be ready, especially if he already has sexual experience, then that's a strobing, warning flag in my book. I have had the great fortune to be a first for several people. Many of them, I had to encourage them to slow down and really consider what we were going to do. It's not just a matter for the body...but for the heart as well.

You only get one first time. It's important to make it a memory you cherish; not one you regret.

tl;dr

If you're reading this Liam, take as much time as you need. If he's worth you, he'll support your decision and wait with you.

I'd like to address some points.

1) Remember that part of why we love Han so much is because he absolutely is (some would say 'was') the kind of guy who will shoot first, rather than let someone get the jump on him. Part of his hero's journey in IV, V, and VI was becoming better than that (mostly). Young Solo is, obviously, before that transition and he'll be far more egocentric. But we may well see the potential for being a hero once the seeds are planted by Luke, Leia and crew.

2) A shaved wookiee would look like...........Ron Perlman.

He's lucky that The Flash isn't pervy and crushing on him....'cause I can see the Speedster repeatedly pranking the Bat by undoing his undies at inopportune times.

What do I enjoy doing?  Aside from voice acting....I don't think anything has made me feel as peaceful and centered as kayaking (not whitewater).

And the only recommendation I have for you, Russ....is to remember that (as is evidenced by today's letter) not all of your viewers are native, English speakers. Slow down just a touch.  When doing narrations, I get that same piece of advice from folks in other countries.

You give good advice, make it a little easier for everyone to pick up the first time through!  Thanks muchly!

I've been thinking about you a lot in recent days, mainly because I hadn't seen anything from you in a while. I guess this explains why.

Though I only barely know anything about you, what I know, I love lotsalots. I'm really sorry to hear about the loss of your suit and I hope that you get some kind of restitution from the airline. This is becoming more and more commonplace and it really seems that something should be done about it.

As for what to do with your show, I see no reason that anything should stop or slow down. Grab yourself a nice smoking jacket, an ascot, and get started on "Toesterpiece Theater". We still need that adorable face and voice in our lives!!

If you do manage to come out for FC, I'll try to keep an eye out for you. I'd absolutely love a Toest foxsnug.
