Introduction

Ed Weinstock started covering the Susquehanna Valley for News 8 in August 1986.

Ed grew up in Norwalk, Conn. and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He started his career in radio and stayed in it for a while. He worked in Connecticut for three years, Florida for one year, Houston for four years, Boston for four years and San Francisco for one year.

Ed made the jump to television and joined WGAL in 1986. He says his favorite part of the job is that every day is different. Among his achievements, The Associated Press awarded Ed first place for his enterprise reporting for his story entitled "Emergency Angels," which profiled emergency room workers across the Susquehanna Valley.
