New version of FreeReg online http://freereg2.freereg.org.uk/  It is the same database at the backend, but a shiny new frontend for querying.  Suzie

The In-Depth report can provide a solid overview about your place so that interested parties can learn more about both the place and your study before contacting you with specific queries about their family or any other questions about your place. If you are just beginning your study, you may find this helpful as guidance on useful information to collate early on.

This Saturday (that's tomorrow) is the inaugural Conference/AGM of the Society for One-Place Studies. Many one-place studiers (some members of the Society and some simply interested family historians) will be at the Telford Innovation Conference Centre to hear guest lecturers Phil Tomaselli and Kate Tiller present during the event. In keeping with our 2014 Shared Endeavour project, the theme is "The effect of World War One on communities across the globe."

More information is available at the Society's website. The conference will be streamed live and available on the Society's YouTube channel. Thanks to all those Society Committee members who worked so hard on the planning of what looks to be a great conference.

This month we are out and about! Join us as we discuss visiting your place. Learn a wealth of useful tips and ideas for planning, enjoying and making the most of your visit - whether it is the first time or you are a frequent visitor.

You can JOIN us in the hangout (we have room for up to 10) or VIEW here in the Community Event. No worries if you can't make it live as our hangouts are recorded and archived at our YouTube Channel. If you have questions, suggestions or comments - why not leave them here in the Event (before or during our hangout and we will weave them into the discussion; after our hangout and we will be sure to get back to you). See you all on Friday, July 25th.
