Better selection by far than any other Streetwear/lifestyle store in the vicinity. Take a look here and ignore the urban outfitters and other generic "hip" apparel stores that that dot the street and nearby mall (they're gross). Pretty standard atmosphere and attitude as far as any half-decent streetwear store that knows it can "take itself seriously". The ladies are generally more upbeat and helpful than the dudes (unless you're dealing with a manager) but I don't necessarily mind that bros give you space if you look like you're just browsing. Their sale section is ALWAYS stocked with hidden gems. Case in point: bought a solid black denim jacket made by 10 Deep from here more than 4 years ago for about 20 bucks CDN (if you can believe that). It's still in one piece and looking damn good with age. Im not from Ottawa so If I'm ever visiting, I can rest assured that local advice from Norml employees will pick me up to speed with what good concerts might be happening (weekends are surprisingly packed). Overall, this is a great homegrown Canadian clothing outpost that holds up to competition from similar stores in Toronto to NYC, Berlin and in between. Sure, it sucks if some of the fur they sell was inhumanely sourced (by other companies)… but nobody screams animal cruelty about the leather and suede shoes that are sold just about everywhere else in North America… plus Canada is cold, so that's why they sell jackets (duh).
