It is very disheartening to see that in world we still have groups of people that don't want women to be educated. #pakistan #taliban

When does the government start cleaning their own mess?

One of the most powerful images and quotes I have ever read.

#Chicago  schools are an example of how we have forgotten to solve systemic problems of our society.  Once we get past the buffalo chips slinging we can start solving the problem; this will never happen.  I propose that each alderman gets accountable of the kids performance in their district; each parent will will get a tax break if the child achieves a set criteria; each teacher gets a bonus based on how the kids perform, and the mayor get elected if the district achieves are certain level of performance.  A system is never perfect; as long as we have close-loops system it will improve over time.  If this is so important our actions need to show it.

This is a nice & clean Holiday Inn... Breakfast is good. Shuttle to the airport is great. They also drop and pick you up as well at local business. But two things make this place for me... James the bartender... He is a New York bartender that you look forward to at the end of the day with a beer of course. The other is the morning staff... Warm smile and attentive. For a frequent travelers this place is comfortable and unpretentious. The older I get the more I value personal service over other stuff such as fancy shampoo., etc. Lastly...wifi good and shower pressure is good. 5 stars on things that matters.

Overall good experience...night front desk person is very nice, wine is ok but a free glass is a free glass. French toast breakfast is good. Beds are good. Keurig coffee maker with green mountian cofee is good on a cold night. Not a big fan of half open shower door....but the shower is good. Maid service is through. Beats a hotel thats twice as much nearby.

We have been regular visitors to the library...this is not the library you recall from the 1980s; it has e-readers, latest magazine with cozy reading room. Great online services, bookmobile, checkout books for your kindle, inter-library loans to get the latest books from library around the US. Zinio magazine app -- access to top magazines...all this for free! Staff is great. A Gurnee gem indeed.
