FUN THING TO TRY: Mentally replace all instances of the phrase "by all means" with "by any means necessary".  See how it changes YOUR conversations!

I'm amazed at how few posts I actually share publicly.

I know I should post to public less, but I've never gotten the hang of sharing my posts to circles. Communities have helped.

Clearly, the interface geniuses who decided that "swiping gestures on a glass screen" was the awesome trendy interface paradigm must live their entire lives in bone-dry, 24/7 climate controlled environments where "humidity" is nothing but a scary scary myth the other designers tell the new hires as a ghost story/hazing ritual.

Looking over gameplay footage of the upcoming Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, I feel somewhat... odd about it.  Oh, it certainly looks like it's fun, I'll probably pick it up, and I'll probably enjoy it.  But seriously, I can't help but think that EA, having bought out Popcap, has absolutely no clue what to do with this company's assets.

I mean, in a way, the correct answer would be "give them money and let them do what they were doing", but MBAs with egos to stroke are taught not to accept that as an answer, no matter how correct it might be.

What th... dagnabbit, it seems the print-on-demand publisher I was looking at (ComiXpress) has decided to close up shop after nine years.  Curses!

Hrmph.  That's not good at all.  Hopefully I can find another shop that can handle the same print dimensions (and bleeds), and who fits the same general price range...

Well, I may not be going with the Kindle importer thingamajig, but it's looking more and more like Amazon's CreateSpace service is a good idea.  I mean, so long as I can tell them to use a custom trim size (they say I can), since I've got an already-laid-out Scribus document in a nonstandard size...

Oh, wait, maybe I should post this one public. Just realized that.

At the +MC Frontalot concert last night, I just had to give a photosphere a shot. Turned out better than I expected, especially with the low lights and everyone in motion.

So, yes, this explains the one guy in the back spinning in a very slow circle like a nerd with his phone. Because nerd.

With my Nexus 4's Photosphere option.  Fun stuff.

There!  Covers, spine, and book all laid out!

And now the automated upload system tells me that there's apparently enough differences between the printer I was going to use and this shop to warrant throwing tons of layout warnings at my face.  Hm.  Might be a bit longer.

Of course, I AM half-tempted to just tell them to ignore the warnings and send me a proof copy anyway.

Well, here goes.  I'm down to a text intro, an outro, and cover art, and then the book will be ready for action.  And actually, just the text bits will do for just making a proof copy to make sure I've got everything laid out right.

Almost there...

If your next question was "What's Mike Rowe been doing these days?", then boy does he have an answer for you!
