Introduction

Jason King is the Weekend Sports Anchor and Weekday Sports Reporter at WMUR-TV. He joined the WMUR sports team in August of 1997 and has enjoyed covering Granite State sports ever since.

Aside from promoting local high school and college athletes, Jason has also covered several major sports stories for WMUR, including the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox World Series titles, all three Super Bowl runs by the Patriots, as well as the Celtics and Bruins championship seasons. He cites the final NFL game ever played at the old Foxboro Stadium, the “snow bowl” playoff game between the Raiders and Patriots, as his most memorable event to date.

Jason has been recognized several times by the Associated Press and NH Association Of Broadcasters for his work in the Channel 9 sports department. He is an active member of his community and serves on the Franklin Pierce University Sports Management Advisory Board.

Jason grew up in Merrimack, and graduated from Merrimack High School, where he served as captain of the football team and also played baseball & basketball. He then attended Syracuse University and the University of New Hampshire before graduating with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Communication from Rivier College.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys coaching football, watching movies and spending time with his wife, Nancy, and their four children, Tyler, Jackson, Kathryn, & Meghan.
