Per- and Polyfluoralkyl Substances or commonly referred to as PFAS are causing concern among environmental scientists and citizens across Michigan. These ubiquitous compounds have been used in many of the products that we use every day including waterproofing of leather, non-stick pots and pans, and in firefighting foams, to name only a few. Unfortunately, these compounds have entered our environment by moving through the air, soil and water. Assessment of these compounds in the environment presents challenges and procedures to properly evaluate and detect their presence are just now being developed. Envirologic is staying close to these developments and is prepared to assist our clients with evaluating how these compounds could affect their operations. If you have questions, please reach out to our team.

As Environmental Consultants, our work on brownfield projects often falls at the very beginning of redevelopment. It may be months, and often years, before the project is complete. One such project that has been an economic success is the Sperry Building. Built in1922 as the Sperry Department Store, this important piece of Port Huron history is now the Sperry Moviehouse. Find out more about this historic building's new life and brownfield redevelopment success in our brief profile. https://bit.ly/2lXTPOw
