Tuesday 7th April

I didn't see the sun once today ... as it hid behind some rather large black clouds.

THANKFULLY it did not rain ...

After our lovely Hoi An experience yesterday, I decided that I needed to learn how to make one of those colourful Vietnamese lanterns. So this morning I enjoyed a "lantern making" lesson.
Um - I am not known for my deft hands and artistry ... so I made a rather awful lantern and my tutor gave me 4/10 for it! REALLY?!

Lanterns have been used in Vietnam since pre-electricity. In Hoi An, once a month - on the 15th - electric lights are switched off and lanterns are filled with candles  It's a sight to behold ...

In the afternoon I took a rather long & sweaty bike ride around Lang Co. I rode through paddy fields and ended up in a local fishing village ...

During the Vietnam War, 1955 to 1975, Agent Orange was dropped by the Americans. This area around Lang Co saw a lot of fighting and her people are STILL suffering from the consequences of this drug warfare ... truly awful.:

Up VERY VERY early tomorrow ...

Sunday 5th April  - Easter Sunday

The Moon last night finally blossomed into something "VERY" special!

Today was great fun - first I learnt how to prepare a typical Vitenamese salad ... with Exec Chef of Angsana and Banyan Tree - Anders ...

Then I played the best golf of my life at the "Nick Faldo" designed Lang Co golf course ... I was on fire ... literally - it was so hot out there!

My drives were straight and long, putts went in and my chips ... were tasty! It was fantastic!

Anyway - an early night as my body is crying out for sleep ....

Tomorrow I am off to Hoi An ... and my radio show airs!!! Details to follow ...

Saturday 4th April

Oh - so TONIGHT it's Full Moon (not yesterday when it looked amazing and clear) and guess what, it's a wee hazy and not very clear at all! Bah!

Today I played tennis, walked the "yellow sand beach" and of course did loads of filming too!

The sand is beautiful but is "off colour" due to the titanium deposits in the area.

I am exhausted tonight so the Diary is short ...

Cooking lesson and golf tomorrow....

(HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY to my very dear friend Tim ... can't wait to celebrate with you in person mate)

Sunday 29th March

So - the clocks went forward this morning but someone forgot to tell  Mr & Mrs Spring that indeed Spring had "officially" Sprung.

There has been heavy rain, high winds and bone-rattling chilly gusts all day and nothing & no-one has looked happy ... especially me.

So I had an afternoon nap and I dreamt of ... elephants ... one in particular - Yuki from Thailand. She has been quite ill of late - worryingly so ... I think a visit to Chiang Rai is in order ...

Saturday 28th March
Back on the farm - and I don't mean the funny farm!
Horses to ride, dogs to chase, ewes to hug and lambs to feed (Sunshine is still my favourite)... a pleasant weekend before Vietnam next week. What a weird and wild and varied life I enjoy!!
It's chilly and rainy but it's all good.
The bi-annual stupidity of clock changes occurs tonight and I lose yet ANOTHER hour of sleep. Grrrr...

So much to do ... so little achieved ... so little time ... grrr.

Have a VERY busy weekend planned - which will include horses, lambs, ewes, dogs, quad-bikes ... work ... swimming, cooking ... and um - sleep?

And guess what - it's going to rain!

Thursday 26th March

It's a cold but beautiful day here at home in "middle" England ...

Am doing all the chores I need after three back to back trips ... and am also starting to prepare for next week.

I did wake up early to watch the cricket ... I wish I hadn't!

Lamb update: Sunshine, Rainbow, Salt n' Peppa, Snap & Crackle & Pop .. with two more to come ... hoepfully on Saturday when Vet Assistant Sharma will be at hand ...

Oh - I wish I was in Greece by the beach, wearing a straw hat!
