So last night was the monthly gathering of 'Skeptics in the Pub,' a subset of our local CFi chapter. It's a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere where skeptics, atheists, rationalists and the like can gather and just hang out. Some of the discussions can be pretty though provoking, but in a room full of skeptics, what do you expect?
Anyway, while I was talking there, one of the guys came up to our table and mentioned that Mount Royal University here in Calgary had finally gotten a Secular Students group established, and that Nate Phelps was asked to be their speaker for their first assembly in February.
Needless to say, most of the CFi crew (myself included) is planning to attend as well to show their support for this new venture. Way to go, guys. :D
