Paul H. has been a team member with Brothers Plumbing Heating and Electric since January of 2015. He is a breath of fresh air for whatever room he walks into. His personality is contagious and you can’t help but to like him. Here is a little bit about our featured team member of the quarter, Paul H.
BIO:
When I was 16, I was sitting in class trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and really had no idea. Then by chance, my father had a leaky faucet that needed to be fixed and had me come help him. I
instantly fell in love with the process of diagnosing the problem, then setting out to acquire the needed tools and parts to fix the problem. Once I repaired the sink, I felt a feeling of satisfaction I had not received with any other type of work. That day I instantly fell in love with plumbing.
Education:
I enrolled to get my formal plumbing certificate from Red Rocks Community College at the age of 16 by taking night classes after high school my junior year. At the same time I was graduating high school I was also graduating with my plumbing certificate. Brothers was so impressed by my drive and ambition that they hired me a week after graduation! After 3 years at Brothers I decided to take a hiatus to serve my country before I felt it was too late. I enlisted in the navy and became a Corpsman specializing as a surgical
technician. After spending 3 years with the Navy I decided to return to my first passion and came back to Brothers in January of 2015.
For Fun:
I enjoy various table top games, hiking, paint balling and my dog. If it’s outdoors with friends, I am there!

Here is Lynn, half of the "Sisters From Brothers," doing her 22 push ups for the ‪#‎22Kill‬ campaign at one of our concert events this spring. Be on the lookout for us at other summer concert events!
In honor of our military that allows us the freedoms we enjoy today, we want to acknowledge and raise awareness about the #22Kill campaign.
History of #22KILL:
Honor Courage Commitment, Inc. started the #22KILL movement in 2013 after learning about the staggering statistic that an average of 22 veterans are killed by suicide every day. Honor Courage Commitment, Inc. has committed to researching and understanding the genesis of this epidemic, and educating the general public on the issue. #22KILL is a platform to raise awareness not just towards veteran suicide, but also to the issues that can lead them to suicide. These mental health issues can stem from Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, or the struggles and stresses of transitioning from military to civilian life.
The solution is veteran empowerment. One of the biggest challenges veterans face is finding a sense of purpose after service. #22KILL directly supports veteran empowerment programs that help veterans maximize their talents and understand their value outside of the military. #22KILL also continually provides support for other veteran organizations, treatment centers, and community events and projects.
How to participate:
Help us reach our goal to get 22 Million pushups – To honor those who serve and to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention through education and empowerment. Every pushup counts so don’t be shy to show your support for our veterans. You can do as many or few pushups as you can or choose. Whether it’s 1 or 100 in a row, we will accept them however they come. They can be assisted (on your knees), incline (on a desk/wall), or if you physically are unable to do any, we’ll even take air pushups.

Paul and Stephen were fantastic! Paul was our tech who did a start up on our swamp cooler. He went above and beyond and we are super grateful! We had a wasp issue and he had to return another time - we thought the problem was fixed and turns out they were still in there. Despite how frustrating that must have been, he sprayed the wasps so that he could do the job. I highly recommend Brothers Plumbing!

Excellent experience. Knowledgeable & Honest. I has an issue with groundwater around my house. A different plumber came and told me my sewer pipe was broke and gave me an estimate of between $8,000 - $15,000 to fix it. I wanted a second opinion and called Brothers Plumbing. The representative asked questions, listened to my concerns, evaluated my property and said that he didn't think the sewer pipe was the issue and replacing it wouldn't fix the issue. His opinion was it was a ground water issue, which makes sense. Glad to find a plumber that is honest, knowledgeable and professional. And, they saved me a lot of money. Very thankful for their help and honesty.

Noticed we had no hot water and scheduled service via their website before their work hours the next morning. I didn't get an immediate response from the website request an hour after they opened (7am), so I called and they were able to schedule someone to come out later that morning and work all day getting the water heater replaced. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional. Corey explained the work he would have to do to bring everything up to current code, answered all my questions, showed me features of the water heater after it was installed, and left the work area clean. I received followup calls from the visit and from another question on the maintenance plan -- they seem eager to please the customer. In all, we were without hot water for less than 24 hours. Was a good experience overall. Four stars instead of 5 only because I wasn't sure how long it would take to respond to my web request and because it's hard to tell whether or not I got a good deal for the price.

We've used Brothers before and they've always been great about being thorough and standing by their work. This time, we had an old, leaking valve. In the end, we decided to replace the water heater, since the inlet was in bad shape and the water heater was on its last legs anyway. Matt was incredibly thorough, and walked us through all our options. He stayed all day to make sure everything was the best it could be. He moved the gas pipe and even bought us a few more inches of space in the utility room! A lot of guys would have tried to short-cut the job and pass it off as done, but Matt didn't do that. He went above and beyond to do the best job possible.

Our water heater died at 7 o'clock on a Thursday evening, right as we were about to give our toddler a bath. We called Brothers who said they could come out at 10am the following morning. They were right on time and extremely professional and courteous. They replaced our water heater for just under $3K (a 50 gallon) and the tech was incredibly informative about everything he was doing. Before he left, he made sure to go over the job -in detail- with us to ensure we understood what he'd done and that the job had been completed to our satisfaction. We were definitely happy with this service.

We called for an AC check up and were told it would cost 119.00 for the service, steep but whatever. My first appointment was canceled without explanation. On the next appointment the technician stated the 3 year old unit was low on refrigerant, which costs about 2.50 per pound, yet we were charged over 300 for labor and 50 something for the actual refrigerant???!!! How a company justifies over 300.00 for 10 minutes of labor is beyond me.. just because ppl are used to r-22 prices doesn't mean you should continue to charge them for it.. it's unethical plain and simple.. I don't want hear any bs about industry standards either.. you as a business have a choice to be ethical or unethical.. you made your choice. Also.. if a customer agrees to an outrageous service the least you can do is waive the bs 119.00 service fee but nooooo, not you guys! Add it all up..nearly 500.00 for less than an hours work and 50 worth of material..good job guys..good job.

Hi Scott, We appreciate the feedback and are sorry to see that you feel our pricing is high. As part of our service, we provide all of our clients a precise price of the recommended work before any of the work is performed. This means you were aware of our pricing and agreed to have the work completed before we moved forward with the job. If you had a problem with our quote you could have said no thank you and gone with a different service provider. The time it takes to perform a task is not factored into our pricing. Whether it takes our technician two hours or 10 hours is irrelevant. We price by the job, this way you pay the same price as your neighbor for the same service and our technicians are not making up prices as they go. We're sorry that we were not a good match for you but our record in the community is very strong and would point to that fact that we won the 2016 "People's Choice" Award presented by the City of Thornton Economics Board (see our FB page for pictures) and have been doing business and supporting this community for over 36 years.
