My first time at Antibes Bistro was nothing short of perfect. The cocktails were delicious and the appetizers were unique pieces of yummy art! Linleigh and her team were SO attentive and made sure to check on me and my guests multiple times. Cozy, cute space on the LES. Will definitely be back!

Saturday June 15, 2013 : 7-9 pm: First the problems : the noise. It was horrendously loud to the point we could not talk to each other. We did complain to the owner/manager, but although he indicated he would turn down the music, he didn't. Now it could be a flukey bad position of our table, but unlikely as we observed other tables straining to hear each other - and having to shout across their tables. This is so serious they really need to bring in an audio engineer and put a sound absorbing ceiling in - or at least cover the large steel sheets on the ceiling which I am sure is causing the problem. The waitress - who was a wonderful "look-alike" of Elisabeth Moss on Madmen - was excellent. The lamb shank was done just the way I love it - cooked slowly and meat drops off the bone. BUT my daughter's steak was so bad. She could not cut it. The manager eventually admitted they should never have served this "end bit" :-) The manager accepted the criticism politely, and gave us a wonderful desert for 4 - with apologies. Hopefully they were sincere and the chef will never do this again.

Response from the owner - 8 months ago
I'm glad the atmosphere speaks to you, Nika! To me, that's just as important as the food itself. Of course, I'm glad you're a fan of the meal, too. Wish I knew what you had! We can't wait to welcome you back and show you another great time! -Eyal

Had dinner here last Wednesday with my best friend and a few girlfriends to celebrate her birthday! We made reservations and they had to be changed a few times to add people, remove people, add them again and shift the time by 30 minutes (I made the last change to the reservation pretending to be her secretary because she was so embarrassed by having had to call so many times about it) - this is where our experience with this place started - they were pleasant, accommodating, hospitable and super friendly despite all the phone calls. The 5 of us were seated (within 5 minutes of our arrival) at a lovely table right by the entrance and offered sparkling or tap water immediately. We felt that our waitress was a bit ditsy, but I thought her heart was in the right place - perhaps she was new, although she was slow she was super sweet and made no errors with our food orders. I went there intending to order their Homemade Fettuccine with slow-roasted tomatoes, black olives, feta and fine herb pesto as my entree but changed my mind upon hearing about one of their "specials of the day". I ended up going with their skate fish which was cooked in a DELICIOUS lemon and capers sauce and served with a bed or baby arugula and their (also really good!) potato puree (and they let me order truffle oil on the sauce to go with the potato puree...which is just a fancy term for good ol' mashed potatoes! They also have a nice wine list - we went with Rose and shared a bottle of Chateau Montaud. It was served chilled - just how momma likes her wine :). For desert we ordered the birthday gal a lil cake/candle and we got a variety of cakes and ice creams - I don't remember details about this because I was still floating on cloud 9 with visions of my entree swimming laps around my head...but our desert (and apps/entrees!) were all presented very nicely. We all enjoyed our dinner here along with the intimate lighting and their rustic French decor. I would definitely love to come back to try their fettuccine and their Parmesan Risotto...ooooh, and they have a BRUNCH menu (unfortunately they also use Comic Sans on their website, I'm a typography snob. Whatevs, lol). 5 stars for Antibes Bistro! Yum! :D

Very cute place with the interesting menu choices and drinks. I had a trout and it was delicious. And if you come even on Sunday and seat at the bar they have happy hour prices for their cocktails as well. Will recommend this place to friends.

Fran, it's been about a year since you wrote us about your visit, but we wanted to reach out and say thank you for the kind words. Have you been back recently for more trout? We'd love to see you again soon! All the best, Eyal
