Great video on children and attachment! :) Why is it important? How does it affect the child's brain? How do interactions change the brain? It is all about our relationship with our children...our relationship with our child shapes our children's brains. #children #parents #attachment #therapy

Happy Mother's Day! Children learn the most when we think they aren't looking...
I thought this was fitting for Mother's Day! Life is busy and a challenge at times. We always think that we need to "teach" the children how to behave. It is so important that children learn the most when we think they are not looking. They learn how to be in the world by watching how we are in the world. These are the lessons that have the greatest impact. The lessons we teach when we think that they are "not looking." Happy Mother's Day!

We never truly "get over" a   #loss     .   #Grief    comes and goes.  The best we can do is to acknowledge and move through our feelings. #blog   #foodforthought   #insight   #perspective

This really amazed me.  What an amazing metaphor for moving through our trauma!
I found this pretty amazing!  A redwood tree can experience multiple #traumas   yet will continue to grow.  This growth may not occur overnight. It may take years, but it will grow.

Trauma can leave us feeling "cut down" too.  We may feel pretty hopeless at times.  We need to remember that we too can #grow  ! Just as the redwood tree it may take time and patience, we just have to be #diligent  and do the #work  .

It is not easy but we can come back. We must #keepmoving  forward, even if by baby steps.  We will get there. There is #hope  !

It is so very difficult to slow down and be #mindful   . Often we rush from one thing to another in #life  . When we are so very busy it increases   and lowers our quality of life. We can't see the forest for the trees !

The best #selfcare   we can engage in is to take stock of what truly is important . What really matters ? What can we do to provide a life cushion? How can we enjoy the little things , the little moments ?
Be kinder to yourself and your #kids   . Take some down time to re-evaluate . #keepmovingforward   #lifelessons   #wisdom   #foodforthought

I struggle with being perfectionistic at times. However, some of my best idea have come from letting myself be "good enough" and not perfect. Perfectionism can keep us immobilized at times. Learn to be imperfectly perfect...lol

Loved this article.  Makes you think about what really matters. #family   #friends   #authentic   #self
What are the top regrets as we face #death  ? What if we could live #life  so in the end we had no regrets?  We forget at times, what is truly important. Focus on the important things...the things that really matter. #family   #friends   #foodforthought   #wisdom
