Yosemite Renaissance is an annual juried competition/exhibition intended to encourage diverse artistic interpretations of Yosemite. Entries may be in any fine art medium including painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, textile and sculpture.

The exhibit opens February 28th, and runs through May 11, 2014 at the National Park Service Yosemite Museum Gallery in Yosemite NationalPark.  Up to $4,000 in cash awards will be announced at the opening reception, 5:30-7:30 pm on February 28th.

Encouraging diverse artistic interpretations of Yosemite
Introduction

Yosemite Renaissance is a non-profit organization for the support of the arts of Yosemite; its primary function over the last twenty-five years has been to organize the Yosemite Renaissance competitive art exhibition.

Our goals are to bring together the works of serious contemporary artists that do not simply duplicate traditional representations; to establish a continuum with past generations of Yosemite artists; and to help re-establish visual art as a major interpretive medium of the landscape and a stimulus to the protection of the environment.

Historically, the arts have played a very important role in the establishment of our State and National Parks. It is our hope that they can be just as important in future efforts to preserve and protect that heritage.

We also oversee the Yosemite Artists-in-Residence Program, previously administered by the National Park Service, is now a program of Yosemite Renaissance, Inc. Please contact us for more information. Email: info@yosemiterenaissance.org

The programs of Yosemite Renaissance are intended to encourage diverse artistic interpretations of Yosemite. Enjoy!
