A beautiful song from 1989 that sounds older than that to me (not a diss). Somehow it got lost in the shuffle - 1989 was a big year for pop music, so this is understandable. But this rainy day slow jam is just exquisite, and I don't know why it didn't get more play. Deon Estus was George Michael's bass player, and George does him a solid by providing the backing vocals here, which are nicely airy and complement the lead vocals. Plus, bonus points for the overwrought yet still poignant line "No gods of love can help me now!"
