Facebook has secured major-league deals in the US and Europe with some of music’s biggest hitters over the past few months such as Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony/ATV, Kobalt, HFA/Rumblefish, SACEM, SOCAN, and Wixen, expanding its music licensing considerably.

Check out these great facts about #musiceducation:
1. Children who study music tend to have larger vocabularies and more advanced reading skills than their peers who do not participate in music lessons.
2. Children with learning disabilities or dyslexia who tend to lose focus on more noise could benefit significantly from music lessons.
3. Music programs are always in danger of being cut from shrinking school budgets even though they are proven to improve academics.

Stats revealed by Music Business Worldwide have shown the difference between the hourly earnings of men and women working in UK's music industry – and it makes for reasonably damning reading.
On average, women working at one of the three British significant labels earn 33.8% less than men.
