Spacious, clean facility and wonderful teachers. My daughter was with another studio for 3 years before she moved over to Park Cities Dance. She is learning so much more here and she loves the teachers. I disagree with a previous review that the studio is not friendly with small children. I sometimes wait for my daughter and I see parents with small children all the time and there never been any problems. I think it's a courtesy to dancers and waiting parents to keep noise level down as much as possible. It definitely makes the studio a much more pleasant place to learn for my child.

PCD is awesome!!! My daughter is 5, we started last year with one class and have added another. She loves her teachers, and I definately appreciate the professionalism and the great techniques that are being taught. She is having fun, but is also learning discipline. We are now thinking about adding yet another class during the summer. I also love the fact that they offer so many other classes for adults. I would recommend this dance studio to anyone looking for a higher quality of instruction.

I am 11 and I started training at Park Cities Dance in the summer. With in a few weeks I could tell I was becoming a better dancer. The other studio I was at did not provide proper training. Park Cities Dance is the best dance school in Dallas. I currently take 10 hours a week and working my way up to the higher levels with the strict yet encouraging support of all the teachers and especially the owner, Jacqueline Porter (Ms.Jacqueline). All of the teachers are so talented and encouraging and push you to your limit to make you the best you can be! No matter what age or level you are you are trained as if you are destined to become a dancer. Park Cities Dance also has AMAZING musical theatre, singing + acting, and TV and film acting classes. I take a musical theatre and singing+acting class and they are some of my favorite classes, the teacher, Doug Miler, is so fun and supportive but also an amazing teacher who is very professional, (he acts and directs in the Dallas area.) Park Cities Dance is one of the best decisions I have ever mad win my life and I know everyone else's that goes their. Please come and see what you think, I wish that everyone could be a good dancer. I know you won't regret it!!

Incredibly talented staff, no question there. Studio is brand new, modern, spacious, high quality flooring, etc. After asking around in other social circles, there were several complaints from mothers about the OWNER of PCD not being very patient or good with the younger dancers. She will also tell a girl in front of her mother why her physical attributes won't allow her to be a successful dancer (i.e. big feet, slope of her shoulder, etc), she will scold and grab toddlers if they are fussy crying or loud in the waiting rooms or lobbies, and a very high and mighty attitude from her part about how parents can't handle their children. They should focus on DANCE and not parenting skills, that is definitely not their job or forte. Many out there say, and I quote: "I would never allow this lady (the owner) to teach my children". However, young dancers do need structure and discipline but there is a very fine line between that and outright stepping over parents' toes. Owner may very well write a reply to review denying her behavior but I agree with the other Google review about her treatment of young dancers/siblings. However, she's a very talented woman, she should not deal with people, that is what her manager is there for and does a MUCH better job. Mothers are too busy to write reviews online, the ones that made some of these complaints were urged to do so, it's like voting for elections, the FEW that vote end up choosing our leaders and then people complain, so they should write their reviews so that people are aware and make wise decisions. But if you just have older kids, you may very well be just fine at PCD, incredibly talented professors, hands down!

After searching ENDLESSLY for dance classes for people over the age of 18 that were legit (and not just things like aerobics). I finally found Park Cities Dance and LOVE IT! I drive from over an hour away to take classes. I have taken tap, hip hop, and jazz and highly recommend this studio. It is a professional atmosphere that is not intimidating to beginners. All skill levels are worked with and the staff will help you find where you best fit in. On another note, the kids that dance at Park Cities Dance are top notch. I am amazed at the talent that is coming out of this place!

JQ PORTER (OWNER AND TEACHER) IS THE MOST TALENTED WOMAN IN THE WORLD...forget Broadway in NY, Park Cities Dance is Broadway come straight to you in Texas. I am a beginner 26 yr old adult dancer and she makes you feel like a million dollars and that anything is possible. Her talent is so inspiring, I enjoy class just to watch her demonstrate our next combinations!! Children there are adored and trained just as well as the Russian ballet, and the offerings of different classes for all ages, up to 80+ cannot be found anywhere else!! Nor can they be effectuated with such love, care, and thoughtfulness...They become your family and if you are not participating in something at this studio, than you are missing out on life...it's a magical place no matter where you’re from or how old you are.

Truly the best ballet and jazz classes and teachers in Dallas. Park Cities Dance ballerinas have won many ballet competitions on regional and international levels. No other studio in Dallas is producing such strong dancers. When chosing a studio be sure to look at teacher credentials. I have found some of the more popular studios will have SMU students( nondance majors) with SOME dance as a child teach their classes. of course the students love the teachers but there are NO results.Park Cities DAnce only hires PROFESSIONAL teachers with degrees in dance and who continue to stay active in local dance community and dance on their in troups etc. They also offer to administer you Off Campus PE program for free. Many Belles and Belle hopefuls have trained here but that seems to be a secret.

Dallas has been needing a great dance studio for a long time and this is it. Having danced for years with a legend in Dallas, I wanted to find a studio for my kids (my 6 and 4 year old currently take) that stressed the basics from the beginning. We found it and I am thrilled. The owner has amazing credentials. Yes, the teachers ask for a lot from the kids but that's because they can do it! If all you are looking for is a fun place to "dance", you might be happy with other studios as well. If you are looking for fun AND high quality, this is the place for you.
