It's hard to watch Hayward's performance right now, but I do agree that as fans we have to see it through. We bitched about Al, Paul and other players at times. Then they fly away to other teams and they're great.
I think our players get into ruts because the team itself is still in a weird place. We haven't found our groove yet, we're still learning, and it is what it is. The team dynamic is still a work in progress. With more time we'll find our solid pieces and keep growing.
Fans are so quick to hate. If I were a player I'd tune out social media and just keep working on myself.
This opens up a rant of mine. I grow tired of fans bitching about losses. At the start of the season and back into summer all I heard was, "we won't be great, but we're playing our young guys and we'll grow and become awesome." Well, that takes time and patience, which is likely this entire season into the next. Buckle up and enjoy. This is what it takes to do what we said we were doing this year: rebuilding from nothing.
I go to a few games. I put on my Trey Burke jersey, sit back and enjoy. I note how players are coming, and that's it. What else are we going for? A playoff push? Really? I root hard for Gordon to come out of his slump in hopes that all this rebuilding is actually working. The jury is still out, but I'm optimistic yet.
