I’ve never much liked the term ‘influencer’, but for the purposes of saving word count I opted to use the term instead of a more aptly coined title of, ‘peer that is where you want to be’ or ‘individual that has leveraged their authority for the greater good’.
Make no mistake, when I use the title ‘influencer’ I’m not referring to those that have large vanity numbers on social media OR those with the most grandiose egos.
To me an influencer is someone with a deep level of expertise, that has proven they get results, that practices what they preach and has a powerful ability to foster implementation and action in others.
Getting these folks attention is important for your growth and success as a blogger and solopreneur. BUT, there's a right and a wrong way to do it.
Those that think sticking their beak up the ass of an influencer with the intention of riding their coat tails or siphoning their success are always going to be left pathetic failures. Don’t be that idiot!
Instead, follow the outreach formula I've used, which is based on giving value and building relationships.
