Interesting comment about walking . I know all about the semi PF pain. I think its because of the way ones foot rolls as you move to a toe off. I have more PF pain with New Balance than other shoes. I use NB revlite, to help work my PF as a strengthening method. In fact before comrades I walked around with toe inserts in my NB890s  but with the heel cut off the lower one. It just stretches the PF a bit. How were your glutes with walking?
