The Food and Drug Administration now requires all food manufacturers to be in compliance with a labeling standard for gluten-free food. Advocates for people with celiac disease say it's about time.

Excellent map work.  I may have to order one of these.     #maps   #nativeamerican   #history
Aaron Carapella couldn't find a map showing the original names and locations of Native American tribes as they existed before contact with Europeans. That's why the Oklahoma man designed his own map.

Those pox viruses are still evolving.
Two men have been infected with a virus newly discovered in dairy cattle, scientists say. The disease causes blisters on the hands and arms, and other symptoms similar to those caused by smallpox.

It sounds more like a new strain of cowpox has emerged, since the rash is on the hands and arms...

Has anyone tried this registry fix for IE 0-day vulnerability?:

regsvr32 -u "%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\VGX\vgx.dll"

Very interesting. Viruses may be involved in more things than we realize.
Potential pathogen present in nearly half of healthy people surveyed

Sometimes environmental regulations actually work.
The world actually got together and stop a major environmental crisis before it's too late.

Facebook was totally f***ing with people!   LOL.    "One test reduced users' exposure to their friends' "positive emotional content", resulting in fewer positive posts of their own. Another test reduced exposure to "negative emotional content" and the opposite happened."
Website publishes details of experiment in which users can be made to feel better or worse through 'emotional contagion'

This could explain a lot, actually.   It explains both why people stick with wheat-free diets and why certain grains cause problems.    #gluten, #gluten-free
Many people who don't have celiac disease say they feel better on a gluten-free diet. But scientists say some gut troubles may come from eating fructans and other FODMAP carbs rather than gluten.

Passing gas, in some instances, may be a sign that you're kicking your gut microbes into action. And that means they can help keep you healthy, says one scientist.

The tech giant is working to fix a bug in its web browser that allows hackers on the same network as much access as a legitimate user. The flaw is particularly hazardous when the software is run from the Windows XP operating system

Very good theater. Good projection & good concessions, there's a lounge with draft beers and a restaurant off of the lobby. They validate parking for the garage behind the theater. Keep an eye out for special events.

Very charming with an excellent game library, and nice, clean accommodations. The food is a little disappointing, particularly when you stay during the week. There is no breakfast menu to order from, and the pub menu only had a basic burger, meatball sub and grilled cheese sandwich. This gets old very quickly. The breakfast buffet on Monday morning consisted of cereal, one slice of deep dish pizza and some fruit that had been picked clean of everything but melons. This may not appeal to everyone after a three day weekend in expensive rooms. Otherwise, would stay again.

Very good Bavarian fare. They delivered both the steak and the ruby trout together and both were cooked correctly and warm. The Bavarian pastries are impressive, to say the least. The breads are artisan-style.

Amazing breakfast. They make their English Muffins fresh on-site.

Lots of great teas & blends. The amount of locally grown tea is limted for obvious reasons. Staff can answer lots of questions about tea.
