I've begun seeing Tamarind in grocery stores. I have no idea how to use it, but I bought some anyway...my unmanageable curiosity sometimes leads me into unknown territory....learning is fun...it's as simple as that.

Glad you enjoyed! I put tamarind in soup from scratch I made tonight...I remember many years ago I bought the tamarind paste that cost a small fortune as I recall. I think I bought it after going to a Thai cooking class.
So tonight I removed the thin shell and removed what looked like a very fat worm...I tasted it and found it pleasingly sweet. Then I noticed the round bumps so I cut into it and discovered several small, hard as glass seeds? I had to smash one with a kitchen mallet to see what was inside...the cracked seed tasted a bit nutty. So I tossed everything into the soup and told myself not to bite down on the nut because surely it would require a trip to the dentist. I'm curious to see if I can detect the taste in the soup...I'll keep you posted.   Remember, keep looking up!

I'd need 6 more hands for this all day task...but it's fun looking and well done. Maybe some day I'll stop and get one!

I find myself in a somber mood today.

Somewhere is blooming the flower of farewell.
Endlessly it yields its pollen, which we breathe.
Even in the breeze of this beginning hour we breathe farewell.

RILKE - Uncollected Poems

Irgendwo blüht die Blume des Abschieds
und streut immerfort Blütenstaub den wir
atmen herüber, und auch noch im
kommendsten Wind atmen wir Abschied.

I'm into enough trouble as it is...but have you considered
WiFi waves?

I'm just now looking into it...seems EU has a different stand than US. Why is that?

An interest in healthy food frequently begins with the death of loved ones. In my case, both my sisters battled with breast cancer...my diet has always been healthy (except for frequent cookie binges) so I'm hoping to prop up my immune system and avoid all forms of cancer.

U.S. plans raids to deport families who surged across border
The Department of Homeland Security is preparing for raids that would target for deportation hundreds of families who have flocked to the U.S. since the start of 2014, according to people familiar with the operation. It would be the first large-scale effort to deport families who fled violence in Central America, those familiar with the plan said.

SERIOUSLY?? People should know about this...sorry to post at this time.

Hello Good Friends,
Hope all is well with you. I've taken time off for personal reasons and am just now looking forward to the New Year, regardless of what it brings.
Of course I've been listening to alternate news, however, I feel that lately, things are becoming just nuts on multiple levels so after Christmas I "hope' to eliminate screen time, except for interesting movies and documentaries.
This morning I listened to a conversation between Catherine Austin Fitts and the Dark Journalist which I will link to in a moment or three. I've followed her for maybe 10 months and as I've previously stated I think she is brilliant. It's so difficult finding anyone on alternate news in whom to trust as a reliable source. Certainly I have three or four, but no more than these names - I've pointed you to them in the past. Anyway, I want to leave 2015 on her thoughts regarding the current world we share because I believe Catherine has truth in her words.
Have a wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year!

Fondly,
Kirstin
