Honestly sad to see Google+ die. Seeing any community being erased from existence is always sad, and there are people for whom this place was their community.

I have to throw a side-eye at the comment that "low developer adoption" was part of the decision matrix, though. Google+ has never had a writeable api, how on earth was there going to be developer adoption for a read-only experience.

Justice Kennedy wasn’t an ally, not even a little bit. Just because he once or twice showed the barest modicum of human decency doesn’t earn him a “liberal legacy”.

Trying to get back into the books groove, I wrote a review of Ada Palmer's "The Will to Battle" over on the Blog. I wish I had a better of opinion of this book, but underwhelmed is as good as I can go.

Over at my blog, I wrote about memories of my grandfather. This was an emotional piece for me to write, which I got around by also writing about shaving. Because man-stuff.

Wrote a review of N.K. Jemisin's The Stone Sky, the towering, magnificent conclusion to the Broken Earth series. Literature was inflicted, and a childhood trauma eased.

I (almost didn't) read a book! I really wish that I hadn't! Death's End by Cixin Liu.

Sorry +Brendan Minish, I tried, and I failed.
