The NYTimes' Tom Friedman just posted a new column about The Technion's Prof. Hossam Haick and his "massive open online course" (MOOC), on nanotechnology offered in Arabic.

It's the first MOOC class offered in Arabic, and thousands of people from Arab countries have already signed up.

We're very proud of Prof. Haick and the Technion.

Great news! Technion Professor Mordechai Segev will be awarded the Israel Prize in physics. The Israel Prize is largely regarded as the state's highest honor and is presented annually on Independence Day in a state ceremony in Jerusalem in the presence of the president, the prime minister, the Knesset speaker and the Supreme Court president.

Congratulations to Prof. Segev!
