“I could write forever about the kindness of the families, and how welcome they made our team feel. Even though there were language, age and cultural barriers, we all left the work site that evening with an unshakeable feeling of happiness. Knowing exactly for whom we were working made the world of difference to our humble team.” – Clare Cullen, Habitat Team Leader.

“While the trip itself was often challenging, I could not be happier that our group was able to contribute something to this great community. The attitude towards life shown by the members of the George community was truly remarkable, and it is something that I will do my best to learn from.” – David Meenan

In June 2016, David Meenan travelled to Zambia as a Team Leader on Habitat Ireland’s Student Build. David and his teammates spent two weeks building homes alongside future Habitat homeowners, Judith and Ernest.

“The MetLife employees’ work was excellent and very much appreciated. Without the help of groups like these, we would not be able to keep the premises in such good condition. Volunteers are not paid – not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.” – Marie O’Reilly, Chairperson of the Board of St. Mary’s Youth Club.
Recently, MetLife employees put the finishing touches to one of Habitat's ‘A Brush With Kindness‘ projects. Read about the results of their hard work: http://bit.ly/28Oxx8D ‪#‎ABWK‬

WELCOME HOME to our ‘Dun Laoghaire to Zambia’ volunteers!

“This trip and the way Habitat structure their housing projects has changed my opinion on life for the better. It has made me a better person, something putting money in an envelope in Ireland and sending it here could never have done. I would like to thank anyone and everyone who made this trip possible, or even just encouraged me to go for it. Your generosity has not only changed the life of a family in Zambia, but the life of a boy from Ireland 100 times more.” – Cillian, ‘Dun Laoghaire to Zambia’ volunteer

A huge thank you from Habitat! ‪#‎HomesAndHope‬
