I need an Ubuntu desktop for development, any mainstream hardware vendor suggestions? Dell supposedly supports this, but finding any actual offerings on their website is all but impossible.

Thanks all. Given some of the characteristics the job wanted, I ended up getting the System76 Bonobo laptop. Looks quite good. If I were doing a home system, I'd probably go the route Andrew said and get a low cost Optiplex system.

Well, crap. Google is killing Google Reader, the thing I use more than any other Google product. More than gmail or even searching. I always have it up.

This was a used car sale. In short, great experience. Norm Hunter sets a high bar for how create a great sales experience. I sent an email, politely worded, saying where I was elsewhere with another dealer and how I thought their car matched up and would they accept X. I got a call and and an offer very close to what I was hoping, easily besting the competition nearby. I came down, drove it, and we were done. No extra pressure. No pressure to upsell me on warranties or insurance add ons. Simply polite and respectful the entire process. And that seems to permeate the entire store. The environment in the store was relaxed, the employees all seemed happy. I can certainly say that's a marked difference from the environment in some other dealerships.

Really excellent folks that care about doing a good job. Micah, the owner, is a standup guy. Tyler (the foreman, he coordinated the job) is very responsive to text/email. The crews worked hard, were friendly and willing to answer questions. My job had a complication with a bad batch of wood flooring from the manufacturer, which Micah handled and got replaced and reinstalled. That's part of why you choose someone like Flooring America, so they'll have your back when there's an issue. They're also one of the only places that coordinates with a plumber, whereas other places expect you to contract one yourself to reinstall sinks and such. My only suggestion is to ask them for list of what to expect with various jobs. For example, with carpet replacement tack board will be exposed between days if it's a multiday job, with hardwood you'll need the appropriate touch up paint for after they reattach baseboards, etc.

Can you give 0 stars? Horrible. My car gets flagged constantly for parking in a reserved spot and it's NOT A DAMN RESERVED SPOT! I've filed multiple complaints and it does no good. There's a whole swath of the parking structure that's not reserved and they come by and flag it anyway.

Good lord they make it hard to find out if you can donate. I call, I have a sink in fine working condition, just updated. Will they take that. "Maybe". Well, what's that mean? "We don't guarantee acceptance over the phone". Ok, that's fine, I just want to know if a working undamaged sink would normally be something that's accepted. I'm not asking for a guarantee. "It might be accepted". AAUGGHH! Sheesh, I just want to know the guidelines on what's usually considered acceptable. Finally got to a manager that would actually answer my question. Way to much hassle and crazy non-committal double speak killed my desire to donate anything.
