I just finished the baking and pastry certificate program there. I'll start off by saying that there wasn't a single day that I woke up and didn't want to go to school. My main issue with the program was that our class had one instructor for three out of the five classes we had over the nine months. Compared to the other two, this instructor was very slow with his demonstrations, and usually took up a third of the class with lectures, leaving us with maybe an hour of production time, on most days. There were a lot of items that we never got around to baking, because he took a number of days to demonstrate something that should have only taken one class. Despite the amount of time he took to explain things, he was very knowledgeable and provided us with many sources from which we could expand our education. I only wish he'd have left it to the end of class, so we could have more hands-on time. The other two instructors we had were wonderful. They were strict, but I feel that I learned the most from them. Parking is also not included in the $18,000 tuition. There is a parking lot across the street that you can park in for an additional $220/month, you can walk a mile to the Lechmere station, and pay $6/day, or you can risk a ticket with the 2 hour street parking. As baking students, we didn't need to use the extensive online library for any research, which (according to the librarian) is what a big portion of the tuition is used for. That said, I did learn a lot, and don't regret going there. I'm just disappointed that we had that one instructor for three of our classes, and were unable to learn a lot of what we could have if we'd had another instructor.

DO NOT ATTEND!!!!! You will not get the education that you should receive for the $40,000+ The administrator lie like there is no tomorrow. They let any any everyone apply. The instructors are not qualified to teach. After I finished with this school I learned that they fired the president and had a lot of problems. The drop-out rate is very high as well as they can't keep administrators or chef instructors. My class started with 26 students to one instructor. When they said that its 16 students to one instructor. So we should have had two instructor. But my point is after the 12 months we ended with 9 students. I just found out that its not even a degree program anymore. I wonder why. ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS. Or my advice DON'T ATTEND. I heard that Cambridge School of Culinary Arts is a better choice for half the amount of Le Cordon Bleu. THIS SCHOOL IS A JOKE.

YES, ATTEND!!!!! Le Cordon Bleu is a fantastic school despite this other person's review. Everyone will have different opinions but from my standpoint as a student, there is hardly any turn over with the instructors. They are all very qualified in terms of education and work related experience to teach. To find out, you look at the addendum the Admissions Representatives give every enrolled student before starting. Also, people are not liars at this school. Admissions is very close with their students and chef instructors help out if and when needed. When people drop out of school, usually there is something personal going on in their lives where they can no longer attend.. or they figure out culinary school is not like cooking at home. There are actual written tests and papers in addition to all the cooking. This is for serious people only, not ones looking to enhance a fun hobby. Plus every school goes through changes and that is why if "honest1" took notice before enrolling, the catalog is "subject to change". This is nothing you can hold against the school - you signed on that one. Yes, always ask lots of questions before applying. That is natural and as a student you want to make the best decision for college. Also, "honest 1", Cambridge Culinary does not offer financial aid so unless you have $20,000 plus dollars hanging around, good luck to you. Always do your research. LCB does offer financial aid and has a reputable education for culinary/pastry schools in Boston as well as internationally.

I'm a little mad after stepping out of the school just a few minutes ago. I was a student there. Some chefs are good. I feel beyond cheated out though. I was told its a 2 yr college, then it changed to 15 months, now 9 months. Felt like I wasn't ready and didn't learn everything I could just in those classes I was assigned. Career services SUCKS. Don't help you at all no matter what the rep tells you who gives you a tour. If crap changed then I would gladly give them 5 stars but they have a long way before getting that.

I just completed the baking and pastry course 22,000 dollars later.... the instructors were great but I have heard from most of them that they are planning on leaving soon because they also do not get treated fairly.... the class sizes are ridiculous and have only been getting bigger, and I have actually compared the number of students to the max number that should be in the class room as posted on the wall for fire dept and the class sizes exceed what the fire codes say.... plus the instructors have to cut out a bunch of curriculum b/c the number of students definatly does not match what they have for equipment... also do not expect parking, that will be at least another 1,500 dollars depending on how long you willl be at the school for.... oh yes and one more thing you can no longer get a degree from lcb boston only a certificate b/c they have so many unplaced students that have since graduated... so overall myself and all my classmates share these dissapointments and probably many others I just can not think of right now.... good luck... try jonson and whales or CIA if you can! oh ps i was a serious student and got all A and B grades so it is not me lashing out b/c i did not like my grades or did not want to do the work that was required
