I too did hours of research for affordable, yet clean and convenient accommodations that would hopefully leave me with a memorable experience and not a case of bed bugs. I kept coming back to this listing. You cannot beat this price, even via hotwire! The Courtyard Los Angeles Sherman Oaks is the perfect place to call home for a few days. If a comfortable bed, a welcoming staff and a little slice of local living are your cup of tea, you should check-in now. The neighborhood is adorable, sprinkled with stellar local eats and an array of shops you wont find on every other main street. If you're looking for frills and a long list of amenities, this is not the place for you. That said, I spent a decade trotting the globe in the music industry, staying at a myriad of 5-star properties and I was more than ok here... even with the shared bathrooms. I never once had to wait for anyone, which was my biggest fear.

I've stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Sherman Oaks approximately 20 times (my company pays for it as they have an affiliation). It's a good enough hotel but it really is overpriced. I see the bill and I have to wonder what in the world my company is paying for! Pros: Always clean, staff is very friendly, room service is fast, friendly and food is tasty and is reasonably worth it based on convenience (they could drop the price a buck or two, though) and the beds are comfortable. Cons: ~I've had showers that didn't work (water sprayed from faucet and shower head simultaneously) on about six or seven occasions (including a time that the room was $326/night). ~They have accidentally charged *my* card (the one I give them for incidentals) rather than my company's on several occasions. They always rectify it, but I'm out that money while I'm out of town. I've had to eat Taco Bell for dinner when I've technically had $300 in my account, but they charged me by accident and it takes a day or two to get the money back into my account. ~Lastly, (and this is a BIG one for me): Their hot tub is gross!!! I mean, yellow gross. I've taken my kids a number of times and my 10 year old son asked me on the last trip what color hot tub water should be, because the Marriott's was always yellow. (I don't let them in it, but they always check it, hoping it will be better.) Honestly, if I were paying out of pocket, I would pay about $80/night to stay here. They need to either work on the charging practice of incidentals cards, fix showers and clean that spa or lower their prices so we, as customers, can lower our expectations.

Overpriced. Not because of it’s location, which is handy to the 405 and Ventura Blvd, but because it’s essentially an old, bland hotel. The lobby looks great, but the rooms are no better than the average business roadside hotel. What’s worse, the internet service was terrible. 7/10

BED BUGS! I have bites all over my body, doctor said it was bed bugs. I called the hotel and told them about it.. She was pretty flip and said they did preventive spraying... well it didn't work... WATCH OUT!

The plus side: Nice hotel. Great friendly staff. Beautiful pool. Rooms are spacious and clean. The minus side: Terrible bed --- the mattress is sagging and my back hurts from sleeping in it. Terrible breakfast --- overpriced, mediocre food. The chilaquiles were like something I could have gotten at a roadside diner. We waited about 20 minutes for potatoes that were undercooked.

Noisy old hotel and no breakfast and when you ask for some thing like regular eggs don't come with bread you should order separately

I've stayed here the past 3 times I was in LA. This is certainly not one of the boutique hotels like Marriott's Renaissance, but it's reasonably priced, central, close to the freeway, clean, and they have a pleasant staff.
