Sullivan's Steakhouse is the "diamond in the rough" of bars found on Dearborn St. As we entered into the location, the smell of calamari and live music from the band caught our noses and ears as we sat at the bar to enjoy a drink and appetizer. An appetizer that was not planned for but with the wonderful smell of calamari--how could one resist? The ambiance was wonderful and bartender Dave was very polite and assisted us with no hesitation as we ordered our drinks and food. He was a nice change of pace compared to our first bartender. Our drinks were good but the calamari--don't leave without trying this dish. It is amazing. This is a great location for an intimate dinner or a small group of friends, I don't see how large parties work here but I was only in the bar area so I cannot confirm. I am looking forward to going back and eating dinner!

This is my favorite steakhouse in Chicago! It has become the special occasion place to come with my fiance. I love the live jazz played in the front bar. The dim lighting, dark wood, and over-sized booths make for a fun ambiance. My guy loves old school drinks and they make a killer Old Fashioned. After your delicious steaks, you have to try the Tahitian Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee - what a treat!

I dined here after work with a colleague - we were looking for a place to have an important business conversation and Sullivan's worked out quite well. It's an upscale restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere. The service was excellent, and our server knew exactly when to check in - as was expected since it was a weeknight and there were very few tables seated. The quality of our steaks was top notch, cooked perfectly, and served hot and fresh. The live music is a plus, and adds to the laid-back atmosphere. There is nothing really too unique about Sullivan's, but it's an "old standby" for a great steak and a place for business and conversation. Great work.

Valentines day dinner was great here! Actually loved their set menu, allowing me to chose from 4-5 options in each course. Lobster bique soup was to die for! I ordered the filet for dinner and while it was cooked to perfection, I didnt understand why they pushed the sauce (bernaise). I enjoy steak with nothing and I felt that because I added the sauce, thats all I could taste, which was not my favorite. The service is great and their signiture martini had me smiling all night!

The equation for a good steakhouse is straightforward: a solid bone-in rib eye, an extensive wine list (heavy on the reds) and fresh seafood for the surf and turf. Sullivan’s executes this equation with ease and now they’ll wow you with their new seasonal menu. Blowing you away with more than a dozen new dishes, the new menu incorporates two new salads and a number of seafood dishes to keep the menu light and fit for summer. I had an opportunity to taste a number of items from the new menu and the new offerings highlight the depth of the team’s culinary skills and prove this River North staple is more than just a steakhouse. Few things say summer like fresh juicy tomatoes and headlining the summer’s menu is a rustic Heirloom Tomato & Buffalo Mozzarella Salad. Every bit as delicious as you would expect, it’s difficult to imagine a more appropriate way to start dinner.
