IT’S A-ME, SUPERSTEP!

Mario isn't the only one around here that’s super, Conquest Superstep is ready to level up! She’ll be pressing start on August 28th at Saratoga in the Fleet Indian Stakes (Race 3) from Post 3 at 2:06 PM ET. Superstep’s super sidekick Shaun Bridgmohan will grabbing coins and stomping goombas all the way to the finish line!

Superstep has already beaten the Saratoga level once before with a wire-to-wire victory earlier this month, so we’re hoping she'll have no problem beating the game her second time around. She'll have to win on difficult mode this time though, as this stakes races has some of the toughest bosses around!

Mama Mia, this is gonna be a good one… Let’s-a go!

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it!

Life isn’t the only thing that moves pretty fast, wait until you see Conquest Windycity in action! He’ll enjoying a day off before his upcoming race at Saratoga on August 8th at 1:34 PM ET in Race 2 from Post 1. Windycity will be joined by his best buddy Shaun Bridgmohan, and together they'll be faster than two valets in a Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder!

Conquest Windycity was our 2nd most expensive auction purchase ever, so just like Cameron’s dad’s Ferrari, he is something special! That's exactly why we named him after our much-loved hometown of Chicago. Windycity is a Tiznow colt, which means his ideal race would be a two-turn on the dirt. This race will give him the two-turns he likes, but not the dirt. It is our plan to transition him to the dirt in time though. Shaun has been training him every morning, so rest assured she he been in great hands. This colt is big, beautiful and blazing-fast, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally see him race!

So join us in saying “Conquest Windycity, you’re our hero!”

MAYBE SHE’S BORN WITH IT?? MAYBE IT’S CURLGIRL!!

WORK IT! Conquest Curlgirl is ready for her close up. She’ll be striking a pose on August 5th at Del Mar in Race 7 from Post 9 at 5:10 PM ET. Strutting down the runway with her will be fellow supermodel Joseph Talamo, and watch out because he’s got some seriously fab moves!

Curlgirl’s last fashion show was out on the turf, but now she is making a welcome return to the dirt. This particular race is an allowance level race with a stakes field, so needless to say the competition will be fierce! This is her ideal distance though, so look for her performance to be on-point!

Missing out on this race would be like so tragic, after all, how often do you get to see a horse on the catwalk?

OWNER'S UPDATE: The Queen's Plate

First of all, I'd like to say thank you to all the wonderful fans that came by and visited us at Woodbine, what a treat for Dory and I and my family to get to see so many friends! We deeply appreciate your effort and we enjoyed the conversations immensely, so many great team members with so many valid points... Loved hearing them all and we love that you care enough to visit us.

I will be answering all the comments I'm behind on. Sorry about the delay, I left Woodbine shortly after the race and am just getting freed up a bit now.

I have some great news to share with all of you, the big boy Boogaloo came out in terrific condition! We will be showering him with TLC and he really seemed so relaxed and totally unwinded. We may be bringing him back soon, I'll keep you posted.

As many of you felt and knew, Boogaloo has just had some rough breaks, including Sunday, but once again he showed his amazing heart. As our great friend and fan Nicolle said "he was coming from the parking lot", and that was perfect a perfect way to describe how impressive it was to only miss 1st place by 1 & 3/4 with such a great field. We were beyond proud, many times the effort and heart a horse puts in will far offset the win or loss. You for sure will see him get a clean trip, and that should be amazing.

Here is my brief take on the gate incident... I personally saw nothing intentional, malicious, or pre-planned in anyway, these trainers, jockeys and owners are way beyond back alley racing. These horses are very, very difficult and it seemed like one of them was a bit high strung. Should Alan have been more aggressive? No, I think in the stretch and at the turn he proved aggression is not his problem. Sad incident but when I raced cars there was a saying "if you're not rubbin', your not racing", I heartily and respectfully give my most sincere congrats to the winning horses and every horse in the race. We look forward to a few more shots and we think we will stay competitive.

Curlinate is doing awesome and we hope you are very much looking forward to his future, just as are we. As many of you have said, he will continue to race on through his babies in Canada.

I'm finishing up many hours of work on the Fasig-Tipton yearling sale with our buying team. We are very, very thorough but if anyone chimes in with a HIP, we will be glad to analyze it and evaluate your thoughts with ours and if they coincide we will vet. We have a fairly significant number now, I wouldn't be surprised if they are overlapping many of yours.

In closing, you really just have to just love Team Casse and how special they make every race, this is well beyond just a job for them, it's a passion for perfection that they exceed at every level. Thank you so much, we are blessed to be a part of such a terrific team of people, and they've got great fashion sense to boot! smile emoticon

Our buddy Olaf Schneider recently delivered his 2015 Queen's Plate Art Contest winning painting to The Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame. Olaf can be seen here in front of the Hall of Fame holding his painting like a proud Papa! The lovely lady that he is posing with is Kaneisha De Leon, who is the Event Coordinator at Woodbine Racetrack.

“I am honoured to make such an impactful contribution.” said Olaf in regards to his donation of the wonderful painting that features our very own Conquest BigluckE and our close friend Patrick Husbands.

We are so happy for Olaf and we encourage all of our fans to go to his autograph session during the Queen's Plate and also check out his website at www.olaf.ca

Well done Olaf and nice hat too!

LET’S SET THE PACE!

Conquest Pacemaker is all cleaned up and Woodbine Racetrack bound! His first race ever will be happening on Sunday at 5:17 PM ET in Race 9 from Post 2. The one and only Patrick Husbands will be in the irons and he’s told us that their pace is going to be off the charts.

Pacemaker is by Eskendereya, who is a freshman sire out of Giant’s Causeway. Eskendereya is not a household name because he was hurt after the Wood Memorial at the end of his 2 year old career, but he won the Wood Memorial by almost 10 lengths and would’ve went on the be a major contender at 3. We’re hoping his son has some of that insane pace that his father had!

So here is to hoping that Pacemaker will live up to his name and lead all the way! Tune in and find out!

OH MISBEHAVE!

Everyone's favorite bad girl, Conquest Misbehave, is back and ready to prove that it’s good to be bad! This race is set to take place on Saturday at Woodbine Racetrack in Race 7 at 4:12 PM ET from Post 5. Patrick Husbands has been tasked with being this wild child’s chaperone, and we have no doubt that he’ll be able to keep her in line!

This race is going to be a tough warm-up for the start of her 2015 campaign. She broke her maiden on the polytrack at Del Mar, and now after spending the winter with Mark Casse in Ocala, she is more than ready to return to the polytrack. Depending on her performance in this race, you may also see her tackle the turf soon. Misbehave is one of Conquest’s favorite fillies, so we are incredibly excited to see her in action this weekend!

As the old saying goes, "well-behaved fillies rarely make history!" so let’s hope this race will be history in the making!
